Hi everyone. I last wrote on here in June this year after I had just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I also have high blood pressure and sleep apnea. I felt so frightened with my diabetes that I immediately began eating from a smaller plate, eating healthily and cooking my own meals. I have now lost 2 stone and think that I am half way there to reaching a healthy weight.
When diagnosed my HBa1C reading had been 52 and I am delighted to say that after 3 months of healthy eating and losing weight that it is now 38 - so this has now put me into remission. My Metformin has been reduced but my doctor wants me to continue taking it for vascular reasons. Healthy no. for this is 30.
Good news too regarding my sleep apnea. I was having 60 apnea’s an hour and they’ve now dropped to 1 an hour. If I don’t always feel like using my CPAP machine I have been advised that I could probably stop for a few days at a time.
I want to encourage others. No longer am I losing weight for looking good but rather than for living healthier and disease free as possible. If I can do it I hope that you can too.
I hadn’t realised how quickly blood results could change. My gym also has a machine that measures your visceral fat and I am noticing a good reduction in this too. I’d rather go by the medical results rather than the weighing scales but I will continue my journey as I’ve NEVER BEEN MORE DETERMINED XXX
