Friday weigh in

β€’13 Replies

Last week was the first time I really couldn't face posting. I weighed myself and I had yet again gained! I felt so soul destroyed. For some reason it's been a really difficult time losing weight. Anyway this week was a good weigh in so I am back again. I will continue to regularly post it was just last week was a real low moment for me. So to the results... the week before was 12.8st then last week was 12.10st 😣 and this week is 12.5st. I tried to up the walking and stuck to healthy eating in the week however last weekend wasn't great! I find weekends generally difficult. It's a change of lifestyle so we can't always be good. It's lovely to be back and I hope everyone else's week is going well ☺

Hi Juliet, I hate seeing a gain too, it can be very derailing! But it looks like the scales were lying to you as there's a good overall loss for your 2 weeks. So, congrats, it's bitter sweet, but it's success. Whatever you're doing is definitely working, keep going :)

Thank you. I'm usually pretty excepting but it was one gain too far! Yes I think the walking paid off ☺

I totally know what you mean about 'seeing' a gain, I've been known to avoid those scales if I thought a gain was coming. But walking seems to be working, try to remember this if you're confronted with a gain again :)

Hi Juliet,

It's great to see you again, and I'm so sorry to hear you had a tough week last week and that you didn't feel up to posting then. Brilliant that you're back - welcome back!!! :-)

Some weeks are definitely tougher than others - I had the same thing myself the past couple of weeks - especially last weekend, I found myself comfort eating and felt things were out of control, but thankfully I'm back on track again this week - mainly thanks to the Monday group weigh-in and being with so many wonderful people that day - it really motivates me to focus on the week ahead, and it really did help me re-focus and plan ahead for a better week.

Interesting to see your weights over the last weeks, because essentially if we just take the weight you were 2 weeks ago, you were 12 stone 8 lb, and today you are 12 stone 5 lbs, so essentially over the 2 week period you have a total of 3 pounds, which makes an average loss of 1.5 pound per week. So essentially - you can ignore the 12 stone 10 pounds, as it was clearly a blip in your week! Your overall trend is Onwards and downwards, and you're making great progress!

Congratulations!!!

Wishing you a good week ahead.

Lowcal :-)

Thanks Lowcal, yes weighing in really does help and as you say sometimes we do get a blip! I am generally struggling a little around the 12 mark but still so grateful not to be back in the 14's so can't complain. It is great to be back. Everyone is really supportive 😊

Hello, well done on the loss. I find the weekends difficult too. im having a lovely fresh fruit salad at night to stop me snacking, with jelly or yogurt, or both! Good Luck this week xx

Thank you, because I think of it as a lifestyle change the weekends are inevitably going to be more relaxed. It sounds as though you have it all in control. Wine is my downfull! Not the amount so much as to the food associated with it! 😐

Overall you have lost 3 lbs in two weeks 😊 That's is great 😊 My weight goes up and down a lot too, it just does, so I have to focus on the bigger picture. Now you know this hopefully you will not get despondent if it happens again πŸ˜• Good luck

Thank you ☺

Hi Juliet,

Just checking in as have not been around. Sorry it has been such a hard time, when you did not post I did wonder if something was up with your Mum.

I think we have to be realistic that the lows of this journey can sometimes take over πŸ˜• The positive thing is that you've dusted yourself down, turned it around and ready to for the next round πŸ˜ƒ

Hope you are having a nice week, catch up on Friday

Thanks Flossie, can't believe Friday's weigh in has come around again. After a big loss last week the scales will probably play big pay back time although I have eaten sensibly and walked loads. Mum's recovering well thanks although test results showed two different cancers in two different places. Onto the chemo journey now. I hear it's not as grim as it used to be. I hope all well with you. Watch this space tomorrow, I promise not to chicken out this time no matter what the scales say! πŸ™„
