Hi all want to lose weight but have mobility problems although do try to walk each day .but slowly need to lose 4 stone .

Welcome Ciggybuts2 so glad you are intent on losing your weight slowly, it is the best way to make sure it stays off. There are many members who have mobility issues and I am sure they will be willing to chat and inspire you with their stories.

Welcome to this forum. Weight loss is attributed to 80% of the food we eat and 20% to excercise. If you can manage the 80% portion, you will definitely drop the weight in a slow and steady manner. Don't follow any restrictive diet, aim to eat clean, healthy and satiating meals that will form a long term lifestyle.

hi.. im not usually inactive... but i broke my leg 5wks ago so i have been stuck on my bed or settee most of the time due to non weight bearing so can appreciate more what its like to be less mobile !.. i am also aiming for another 4stone off.

ive put on 2lbs since stopping my exercise routine but i have been doing chair exercises each day to keep me moving.

As others have said weight loss is definately more about your diet than exercise and im sure if i had kept to my low carb and calorie counting ways i would have lost weight but my main priority was eating to heal my broken bone so ive definately eaten more than i used to and also a lot of it was due to just plain 'boredom' rather than hunger.

My advise is to keep a food diary to see how much your actually eating now to see how you can make healthier choices to help you lose weight and also think i am thirsty or hungry when you reach for the food..

Thanks Claz sorry about your leg Yes eating out of boredom..I know that well l am surprised how quickly the weight goes on ..best foot forward ,so to speak good luck

If I can lose a little then anyone can. I dont exercise because I feel too tired after work and I have a ten year old needing a lot of attention at night. I still lost a stone and two pounds and will keep going. You can do it here, I promise. We have such good loss statistics anywhere. We will be here for you.
