First day!

Have tried umteen diets but this one looks to be a sensible one with lots of encouragement from other people so I thought I'd give it a try. Came back from hols 2 days ago and am determined to try and lose a good stone for Christmas. Will post my first week's results next Wednesday.

Hi Pamela1944,

Welcome to the forum, and I hope you'll enjoy being part of it. The NHS 12 week plan is definitely well structured and contains lots of good information and advice.

Hope you enjoyed your holiday, and it's a good time to try to lose some weight prior to Christmas.

Look forward to seeing your post on Wednesday, and wishing you success with your goal.

Lowcal :-)

Welcome and good luck. I'm also new here and on my third day of the NHS plan. So far so good.

You'll do it no problem! It's roughly a pound a week, I already worked out I want to lose a stone before Dec 25th, and you have 15 weekly weigh ins before then. Good luck!

Hi Pamela and welcome,

You are so right when you say this is a sensible way to lose weight. Like you I've tried so many different weight loss plans over the years, I've even lost quite a lot of weight with them but then piled it all back on again when I started to eat normal food.

With the NHS 12 week plan I've managed to eat most things I enjoy, but much smaller portions. I'm into week 25 and I believe I've actually changed my relationship with food; I can now eat just 2 biscuits instead of a whole packet, this weight loss plan really does work.

I wish you well and hope you enjoy reaching your target. Good luck to you.

Thats great.

What tools will you be using?

Do you have a smart phone - you should definitely try the Myfitnesspal app - many of us use it and swear buy it to count cals and log food.

There is plenty of great info round here - read lots and try to immerse yourself in it.

P.S. Please don't lose a good stone - you need those ones. Get rid of a BAD stone! :P
