Sunday weigh in

0 lost this week. I know why we had barbecue and next day husband took me out to Mexican and drinks.

Starting over today! But it's going to be tough. My rowing friend made wheat gluten free cake. Baked it herself. Maybe if I don't eat today!

Don't be silly you need to eat :) Just take stock draw a line under the last few days and start a fresh today :) As you have maintained and not gained keep holding on to that fact as it sure is better than I have done this week I gained 1lb, but I am not bothered, I am just going to go back to basics and start weighing everything again to get back on track

We went out last night and had birthday drinks, so I had a few empty calories (alcohol) and that has put me over my target calories, but hey ho my baby boy is no longer a teenager and I enjoyed my evening with the family :)

Onwards and downwards - we can do this :)

That's a maintain ShadowDee which is way better than a gain. It doesn't necessarily sound like you have to 'start over', more just a case of tweaking a few things.

Can I ask what plan you're on because if you're counting calories then there's nothing wrong with having some of your friend's cake. I'm assuming she/he isn't expecting you to go halves on it :) If your friend appreciates what you're dealing with then they'll be happy that you have a piece but not a large chunk of it. The rest is down to you :)

Good luck with the coming week.

I am counting calories. I have My Fitness App to keep track. I was losing weight at 1400 calories, but when I went on the NHS site here it came out to 1600. Now that I'm at 1600 I feel it's just maintaining my weight and not losing.

I ate yesterday lol. Small portions though. The Mexican meal I had Saturday didn't agree with me. Something offset my IBS. Still bloated today, but no pain which is good.

This week will be better.

Keep that optimism, we definitely need it on our journeys. Sounds like you're doing the right sort of things. I'd have had trouble eating small portions of Mexican food... love it.

I presume when you say 1600, that was the minimum. No probs with that, I used the minimum for the last 5 months.

Perhaps keep at that for a couple of weeks and see how it goes. Whichever way it does go, you will gain a better understanding as to how your body reacts to that level and then you can think about adjusting accordingly.

Trying not to sound 'me, me, me', but I see this whole process as a case of learning about yourself and if we take a timeout occasionally to find out what works and what doesn't, it all helps in the long term. The guys on here know so much more than me and I've listened to a lot of what they have to say.

All the best.

Thanks Tig. I'll try that. I won't be so hard on myself when I forget to keep track too. My fitness app is brilliant keeping count of my calories. Never been a calorie counter. And yes very open to any advise I get. I row 3 times a week. But before I started this, I figured I was active and didn't need to watch what I eat. It spiralled out of control and don't feel so good about myself. My weight is at a standstill and I want to do something about it.

I'm not surprised you felt you didn't need to keep track, rowing is such an active sport.

I'm the worse person for saying 'take a deep breath and don't panic' but 'do as I say not as I do' :) . It can be an enjoyable path, if only it was easy for us to chill out and look at ourselves from a distance.

All I can add is that there is no race and for what it's worth, my body went into maintain for a couple of weeks, about 2 months in, even though I never changed anything.

Morning ShadowDee

You need to eat!! 0 lost this week is a maintain so well done for not gaining any this week! We all have weeks when were having a BBQ or meal out that is life so the healthy eating needs to work in with in, so just continue to follow your plan and the weight will soon go down.

Have a good weekend.
