After a victory in week 1 I am gutted that I haven't been able to replicate that this week. I have maintained in weight and put an inch on round my waist. Hoping that week three will have to be a good one.
Sunday weigh in: After a victory in week... - Weight Loss Support
Sunday weigh in
Well done for sticking to it, some questions to consider...
Have you kept a food diary of all you have eaten? If yes.. can you work out where the culprit could be?
Are you counting calories? If yes, are you working within the range of the NHS BMI Calculator?
Are you using an app or similar to work the calories out for you? If yes are you entering the exact same item, weight etc?
If you are male.. ignore this one.. if your female.. could it be your totm?
Are you drinking enough?
If everything is a good tick... and I'm NOT looking for you to provide the answers publically... Stick with it and it should even out for next week, staying the same (STS) is not a gain, and many of us hit that place quite regularly- so plod on.. this is for you for good health and more comfort for the rest of your life.. not a quick fix to repeat every so often.
Cheering you on for a better result next week 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you I think the culprit is the totm and i thought to eat below the calorie intake that the bmi calculator recommends. I am eating around 800 to 900 calories in a day. I feel much happier that I can eat a little more.
Sorry you are feeling despondent Water_baby but Minniewinny is right. Just stick with it, if you've stuck to plan you WILL lose fat I promise 😊
Hi and welcome Water_baby
I like you started at the lower end and yay bingo great first week - then my body went into starve mode where it was giving nothing up! couldn't work out why I didn't lose any more weight and actually started to gain weight
I received info off a member on here I then upped the calories to 1700 (calorie range from the BMI Calculator was 1485 - 1890) and I started to lose weight - then I started to maintain and because I was still on 1700 cals I could then lower that to 1600 for a few weeks and I started to lose again
So please think about eating at the higher range to start with (Learn from my mistakes ) - just for a couple of weeks and see if /how much you lose then the following week if you have lost carry on until you maintain then lower by 100 cals.
Hope this helps you
Wishing you all the best on your weightloss journey
Hi
I am finding my problem is identical to yours. I had a great first week but this week my weight has maintained itself. However I have lost an inch from my waist how bizarre! But I will take that.I had a good loss first week and I too have been under calories some days. I am going to adjust that this week. I also think my body is adjusting itself to my diet and some fluctuation was expected as I found on slimming world my weight loss happened every two weeks and not every week.
the importnant thing is to keep going isn't it. i've done my 150 minutes excercise, I have made changes to my diet so its not all gloom and doom.
i think it is also important to remember the scales only tell part of the story. Our bodies will be adjusting, and measurements keep us going on lower days. And we are still going to get to our targets!!
Just so you know as many have said about you not eating enough calories, this is the case. I used to do what you did when I first joined and I was advised to check out my calories on the NHS bmi calculator and stick to between these amounts to and not to go any lower because the other sites don't give you your own personal amounts only average ones and also because if you do not eat enough your body thinks you are starving it and turns what you do eat into body fat and this weighs more than eating the extra calories does so it stops you from losing weight and sometimes puts weight on instead. Please don't make this same mistake as I did this for years and am so pleased I found this out as I have now lost 2 1/2st so far. Good luck with your journey.
