Well that is better than gaining. Also WELL DONE on joining the gym - that is the best thing you have done for yourself and you will reap the rewards.
I remember feeling very self conscious when I first started at my local gym last September. At 19stone I was the fattest person there, but the staff were marvellous and encouraged me in those first early weeks. I now know the familiar faces that are there when I go and I enjoy exchanging a few words so it feels even more like home.
So stick with it, try everything out, get advice on how to optimise your sessions, if they have a personal trainer, book him/her for at least one session as it is time/money well spent.

Don't be surprised if you don't loose any for the next couple of weeks. I was 3 stone down and needed my last stone. I joined the gym and stayed the same for 2 weeks, and then the last stone came off - good luck

Most new ventures are scary at first but thats normal , you'll be looking back on this day soon with pride good on you x
I know exactly how you feel.Like anything new it will feel strange at first.Keep at it and have a fitness consultation,there is so much support out there.After a few weeks believe it or not you will look forward to it and start noticing a difference in fitness and shape.Good luck with it all C xx
