Friday weigh in

Summer starting weight 12.4 st, mid weight 12.9 st and today 12.11 st so I have some work to do to get back on track! In a way I am relieved it isn't a higher weight as I have felt very heavy at times. It's been a nice summer but abit problematic, the latest issue being a very sore tooth which will probably have to be extracted. Alcohol has been my saviour! Anyway back on track from today and feeling very positive. Also celebrating that exactly a year ago I was 14.2 st so glad I haven't slipped back to that. I hope everyone else's weight stories are more successful and that you have had a good summer! ☺

Hey Juliet, welcome back....sorry to here about your tooth and hope the tooth gets sorted soon....so painful!

in reply toPortlandprincess

Thanks Portland Princess it's abit better today but maybe wishful thinking as I don't want to go back to the dentist! 😣 It's good to be back and am feeling healthier already just at the thought of getting back to the regime! ☺

Dentists are tough love!

Welcome back juliet444!

Hope your summer weight gain can be easily reversed. Andrewleon on here recently used the phrase 'portion creep' which I thought was really apt. Maybe as well as the painkilling alcohol you've had a bit of portion creep going on too? Good luck getting back on plan and don't delay getting that tooth sorted, however daunting it may seem :)

Thanks for your advice. Will do. I have eaten a totally different diet including a lot more red meats and heavy food so will get back to my light fish. Portion creep is probably also in the equation too though and alcohol. I intend to go back to dry school nights which makes a huge difference ! Good to be back though. Hope all well with you ☺

I'm trying to not drink during the weeks too, but without this turning into an alcohol fest as soon as I get to friday eve. Every time I turn down a weekday drink it feels easier to do it again next time. There have been loads of good posts over the summer, good recipe ideas and general discussions, so have a read around. I posted last week about wanting to make September the month I finally get on with doing strength exercises, and then suddenly Strength September became a thing. Maybe you'd like to join in with that too? :D

in reply to

Ok thanks will take a look. Definitely good to do something in September to get back on track! Have a good weekend ☺

Hi Juliet444, I would suggest sorting a visit to extract that painful tooth asap then the numbing effects of alcohol don't consistently put you over your daily allowance. Also put a positive slant on your starting weight 12st 11lb is a much lower starting point than 14st 2lb. Back to plan and you'll soon be back to your pre-summer weight and lower still. Good luck.

Thanks. Yes will definitely get it sorted. Thinking positive though now ☺

Well 7 pounds on is a lot better than going back to your original weight!

I wonder why you found it so hard to maintain your loss - maybe its worth thinking about how you can change things to make sure you keep the weight off that you have worked so hard to shed?

Anyways welcome back - always great to have a new/old face around :)

in reply toDave1961

Thanks Dave. I know what I am like when kids are off, any routine goes out of the window. Glad to be back to it again now, able to walk the dog twice a day and laying off the wine in the week really helps ☺

HiJuliet,

Great to hear from you although the tooth sounds a bit nasty.

How good to look back and see the huge changes you have made, you will be back on track new term, new pencil case, new start. No more looking back at the blips just forward for the wows !!🍸

Have a great week and enjoy your return to work.

😇

Hi Juliet, welcome back.

The summer is always a hard one, I struggle too especially having the kids who have good appetites so when they eat I think oh I need to eat to right?? Er no!!! haha! I'm a pre-school teacher so don't work during school hols (well apart from a mountain of paperwork) but that can be done whilst eating and drinking wine!! So like you looking forward to getting back to routine and like you said no drinking on a school night.

Good luck I'm sure you'll get back to it quickly. Look forward to hearing how you are getting on. :)

Hi there, the summer hols are very difficult so I am glad it's not just me! My weigh ins are on Fridays so do feel free to keep in touch (I do Fridays so I can relax a little at weekends😉) Have a great weekend

Hi Juliet,

Welcome back, it's great to see you! I hope you had a lovely time. I'm so sorry to hear you've had a poorly painful tooth, and I hope it can be treated/extracted soon, so you can have some relief. I think toothache is one of the worst kinds of pain!

Congratulations on maintaining the weight loss you have made since exactly a year ago, and I'm sure those couple of extra pounds will soon come off again now you're back on track.

Good luck, and hope you have a great week ahead.

Lowcal :-)

in reply toZest

Hi Lowcal lovely to hear from you. Hope all is well with you. 7 pound gain could have been worse but I am very keen to get rid of it as I do feel heavy. Hoping the tooth will settle soon but will get rid if necessary. Good luck on Monday with your weigh in . Have a good weekend ☺
