Hello every one. I am new to this community. I am starting today with this diet. And I am hoping to be able to stick to it.

I have realise I need lots of help. Since 2006 all I have done is piling on weight to a total of 23 kg. Yes I have been on diets but all failed. I failed to myself. Does anyone feel like that?

Yesterday I was counting the calories I have eaten and I was in shock as I just don't realise what I eat. It suppose to be a good day but I was surprised I had much more than I thought. So obviously any other day I had much more than that. And I can not continue my life like this.

I am feeling stress on a daily basis there so many things I want to change...

Anyways I am hoping to meet some of you who can help me to stick to this program through out this new journey.

Thank you for listening and I can see that a lot of you have a good motivation, I also would like to get that (motivation) of which I am seam to lack of.

Hi and welcome Yuly :)

Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you

Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news

Good luck with the 12 week plan, a lot of people have been successful with it, make sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate

We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.

We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too

It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey

Hello Yuly , well done for counting your calories yesterday, now you know what not to do! Moreless has given you lots of information to read through. Make sure you check your BMI then you will know how many calories you should be having. You'll be surprised, It's quite a lot. The thing I found works the best is planning ahead - have a note book, or a spreadsheet or use MyFitnessPal to plan ahead. I personally write everything down I am planning to eat in a notebook and work out my calories the night before, including healthy snacks. This way I only eat what is written down. You have said there are many things you want to change. You can't do it all at once, so try to stop stressing, prioritise, do one at a time. Steady and slow is the way forward and accepting it is going to take a long time to reach your final goal. Bearing this in mind you may find it helpful to set little goals along the way and give yourself non- food rewards.

There are lots of work-outs on YouTube, I was introduced to Leslie Sansone1 mile walk which I find is great - it's only 15 minutes. Keep posting, we all do it differently, it's just finding what works for you. Good luck.

Yuly i think you have made a very wise decision by joining the forum and probably by recording your calories too.

This is a great place to be, everyone is very supportive and will be willing you on. Look at your calorie counting yesterday as enlightenment, it sounds as though you have realised where you have been going wrong.

Treat your weight loss as an exciting journey, try new things, fit in a bit of exercise and keep coming on the forum. Join in with posts and conversations and get involved with some of the challenges.

I wish you well with your new lifestyle going forward.

Welcome to the forum Yuly

I hope your first day has been going well. If you'd like to join a weekly weigh-in group, the one for the Tuesday Trimmers is in 'events' or scroll down through the news feed. Just click reply and introduce yourself, share your starting weight and goals.

There's one every day of the week if you don't fancy Tuesdays.

Good luck for your first week.

Hi Yuly

I have just found this Site and your story mirrors my own, I am so frustrated with myself at failing on diet after diet. I can eat healthily all day but at nights I just cannot get to sleep - so I eat and undo all my good efforts in the day, it is as if I have a personality change. I KNOW I will regret it in the morning but nothing deters me from snacking. Today I am starting yet again, have put all biscuits in the garage.

Best wishes and let's make THIS TIME the time we succeed. There seems to be so much information and support here I am struggling to take it all in, but will work my way through it. 😄

Congrats on 'garaging' the biccies. Have you thought about what good snacks you will have when you have your 'personality change'.

I have plenty of fruit around but also use the trick of drinking as much water as I can when my body thinks it needs to snack.

Wishing you and Yuly all the best.

Thank you. Yes, I've tried fruit - ate too many grapes, carrots ugg, yoghurt - cann't stop at one. Nothing 'good' satisfies the cravings. Haven't tried just plain water though, will give it a go.

Thank you to all for replaying. Actually as my first day I seam to be within budget on my calorie count. I better get to bed fast before I decide to ...

Thank you for the encouragement I really need that.

Valereliz, I have tried today to keep drinking more water as is one of the things I never get to do. I have felt much fuller during the day. Also I think been outside the house helps me a lot, as since I am a mum I haven't been working and all I been feeling is stress.
