Hi Lorainne,We could be twins girl.
I gave myself a kick up the arse after the clinician threatened to put me on blood pressure tablets.
So, I bought myself a new fitness watch, £30+. It has a calorie count on the programme which runs on you mobile.
I make sure that my intake is less than my output. So far so good and I can feel a difference with my clothes.
I'm not losing 14 pounds in a month but a nice steady loss while still enjoying a few goodies.
I also looked at my portions. Some were well over the recommended limit. I also switched to smaller plates.
Come on girl, you can do it.

Hi, I see on your profile that you've joined the Thyroid UK forum. You'll find them very helpful, and without having your thyroid function under control, it can be very difficult to make progress with weight loss

Try accessing the PARIS scheme vice via your GP - I think you can self refer but get a bit of advice first . This gives you discounted gym membership and a go to trainer . It doesn't mean pumping iron and can be a welcome distraction . The questionnaire filled in together gives sensible eating ideas . I got introduced to Zumba this way and I started with gentle aqua gym . This is great to get you motivated . You don't need to do anymore than you want to do .

I can sympathise. I’m type 2 diabetic who managed to get my HbA1C back into the pre diabetic range following a reduced carb diet within 3 months of diagnosis. Then I retired from working an active job and my HbA1C increased from 44 to 57 so I’m now on metformin. I also gained weight as I wasn’t as active. I was told by the diabetic nurse to stop my pleasure of a coffee for breakfast. The horror of it!! I’ve got my review at the end of April so I’ll see how things are then. There’s diabetes in my family so I know I’m fighting a losing battle.
Food wise I try to not eat more than 40g carbs per meal and fill up on non starchy vegetables. I have half a plate of non starchy vegetables at meals. If I do have a meal that’s contains more carbs, I take Bella for a walk afterwards. My weight loss progress looks like ventricular fibrillation, it’s up and down that much.
We’re all here to support you 💪
