Hi,

Have just joined, hoping for advice, motivation and inspiration... have lost 6 lb since beginning of January but have stalled and have 5 stone to go. My partner and I go swimming every Saturday and I try to walk as much as possible during the day; although my job sometimes makes this difficult.

Hi Viv4465

Welcome to this friendly forum. You've done well so far but you'll be amazed how much this supportive site will boost and help you on your journey.

Good luck, Jopo. :)

To tag people use @ before their name. :) x

Hi Viv4465, great to have you onboard. You will find lots of hints, tips, motivation, inspiration, this is such a friendly and very useful site.

Losing 5lb in a month is really great, well done. Don't be in too much of a hurry, remember how long it took to put your weight on. If it comes off slowly you are more likely to keep it off.

Enjoy your weight loss journey and develop a positive mindset, you can do this if you want to, but you have to want to even when the going is tough.

Take care and good luck.

No idea what a tag is Jopo, or indeed how to use it. Very social media naive I am afraid.

You are not the only one Ceals 😜 Lol

If you type @ then someone's name, a drop down list appears and you can then select the person you wish to 'tag'. Their name will appear in blue and they will be alerted to the tag 😊

Other users can press on the selected name and go that persons profile page and see all their posts and replies 😊

Hope this helps?

Thank you Anna61.

So if I see my name in blue it is because of a tag? Is that correct? I did wonder why sometimes names are in blue and sometimes not.

It is important to learn something every day or it is a day wasted - and today I have learned (I think) about tags!

Hello Viv4465 Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum. I'm glad that you’ve joined. We are a friendly bunch! 😊

First place to look is at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen (bottom, if you're using a mobile) and have a look at the Welcome Newbies thread.😊 there is lots of info here, and links to the nhs12 week plan and also for checking your BMR and target calories 😊 it's important to eat enough so you don't get hungry or feel deprived 😊 I also agree with Ceals about being patient and losing weight slowly, for a permanent solution it's important to establish good, long term eating habits 😊

It's also good to be active on the forum, that's where we exchange ideas and get our daily dose of motivation and inspiration.😊

The forum has daily weigh in groups that you are welcome to join 😊 Just add your weight and a little about yourself in the reply box 😊

Best wishes

Anna

Welcome to us here Viv4465 hope you have a great journey, everybody has stops and restarts with the weight drop at times. I have had my weight stuck at 12s2lbs for a fortnight, then it went down to 12s1lbs, then it went back to 12st2lbs again last week. Don't beat yourself up about it, just continue. Also, check your bmi and make sure you are eating enough calories, this tends to change every half a stone, you are nearly at the half stone mark after all. This could be a reason. When I wasn't eating enough I couldn't lose weight. I upped my calories and started to lose weight, when I first started. Good luck and all the best.

Soundz just like me... wot a pain it is especially when other folk lose weight so fast.. they lose in one week what can take me 2 months to lose... and one false turn.. Valentine's meal springs to mind and no weight loss at all this week... in fact lb gain after losing 9lbs since 1st January... yes I really understand where you are coming from with 5 to lose myself and health a bit of a hurdle on a daily basis... also like you I've been trying to exercise more when I can... my advice... hang on in there wiv me buddy... it may take us a little longer but we will get there... it's the perseverance and a bit of organisation that makes a difference long term... we will get there... and I plan to enjoy the journey...
