Hi I'm a new here, I'm starting the NHS 12 week course, I'm aiming to lose around about 1 Stone 7lbs at minimum. I was wondering if anyone knows on this plan how much weight you lose per week on average so I can prepare and hopefully not lose motivation!

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

I have use the nhs 12 week plan for a year now and it is possible to lose 1st 7lbs over he 12 weeks.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.

Have a look at the Daily Diary which you can find on the Home page in Events. It is where all the members are sharing their daily plans on what they are eating and any exercise they are doing. This thread will give you some ideas on how to start.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.

We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us today. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.

To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.

Hi Franjow, welcome to the group. When is started the 12 week course I had 23 pounds to lose and over the 12 weeks I lost 12 pounds, I have stopped doing it now but have lost another two. I took it slow and steady as I have tried to do it quickly in the last past and have just not kept with it. I have been happy to take a breather before going for the next 9 pounds, ai maintained 10 stone 10 pounds for a couple of weeks and have now been 10 9 for a couple of weeks. Aiming for 10 8 by next Sunday but am confident that if it doesn't come off this week it will come off the next.

Are you doing a specific diet or calorie counting?

Thank you for the response, that's so good and I'm glad that you are taking your time with it and comfortable with your progress!!

I'm calorie counting my meals at the moment to make sure I don't over eat as I believe that was my biggest fault ad as for diet, I'm a Vegan if that makes any difference?

Hi im on week 10 starting monday and lost 18 pounds.on average 2 pounds and 3 pounds a week.its slowing down now and 1 pound loss this week.best diet and forum so helpful and friendly.good luck.

18 pounds already?! That's amazing, I saw that the average was 1/2 pounds a week, is there anything extra you did to get to three pounds a week or has it just happened along with the diet and exercise?

I stick to about 1400 and been walking and doing sit ups .not many as i never really excersised before.i plan my meals in advance.i think its because im determined.i fed up of feeling over weight and down.i feel so much happier.i keep busy if i feel like i want food.if i can do it you can to.good luck xx
