Weight gain whilst on a low carb diet
Hi Beryl, I see you have just joined the forum. Over what period of time did you keep to the calorie limit for and gain the one pound?
It must be distressing for you but there must be a solution I am sure. Did you look at your sugar intake? As in alcohol, juices, low fat stuff, diet products and health bars? All those can be a killer. Don't despair you will get there.
Dont drink, make my own juice from fresh oranges dont have any snakcksand have stopped having sugar in coffer never had it in tea trying to watch the sugar level
Oh yes, No sugar in coffee or tea is a good start.
How many fresh orange do you use for your juice? You would need at least a couple, probably three to make it enough.
1 Orange = 23 g of sugar. The value of 5 teaspoon of sugar more or less. Multiply this by the number of oranges for one juice and you get the idea of how much sugar this refreshing drink will give. Because the juice does not contain the fibre of the orange a person may need more than one orange to refresh or fill the stomach while one fresh peeled orange can be satisfying. Just a thought.
Sugar has a knack of hiding everywhere. Sauces, breakfast cereals, cans, bread, yoghurt, all those low fat products or health products ..... Everything.
it is usually the added sugar that is bad specially the one you are not aware off, but also the excess of fructose in natural food which does not help.
Also be aware of the size of your plate and write down everything you eat to get an idea of what you put in.
I also find keeping busy got me away from the fridge and the pantry.
Good luck on your journey. Keep posting.
Don't despair. It can take some juggling to get things right for your body.
Apart from making sure you are not eating any hidden sugar, have a look at the type of carbs you are eating.
This has some useful information.
