Hello, I'm new here, nice to meet you all :)

I've been losing weight since xmas when I weighed 13 stone 4lb. I'm only 5 foot 2", so that is way overweight for me. I'm now down to 10 stone 8lb... still overweight, but getting there :)

Hi and welcome....you've done so well....you must be so pleased with your success! This forum is wonderfully supportive....keep posting and reply to posts and enjoy! Good luck!

Hi angiejd, snap I'm also 10st8, but at 5'4" have slightly less to go to reach a healthy BMI, so I feel like I'm almost there now. Congrats on your weight loss so far, really impressive. Do you have a goal weight that you're aiming for now?

I was 8 st 1lb before I started putting it on 3 years ago, I'd love to get back to that weight x

That's quite a bit more than me then! I'm aiming for 10st7, which is the last weight I was happy at a couple of years ago too. But everyone has different body shapes. Good luck with your goal. Are you following the NHS 12 week plan? Have you looked at couch to 5k, or any other forms of exercise too?

I just came across this today. I've been using "my fitness pal" which is a free ap that has a barcode scanner and keeps count of calories etc. Also I've been taking part in the trial of a new eating plan based on intermittent fasting. It works :)

That sounds good. Dave1961 recently posted on here about the benefits of doing aerobic exercise during a 12-14 hour fast, and a few of us realised we kind of do that anyway, i.e. for me I often finish dinner around 9pm, fast overnight, then run in the morning before having breakfast around 9am. Is this like what you're doing too? Or is it more like a 5:2 style diet?

A lot of us are using mfp too, and counting calories, as this ties in well with the NHS plan (there's a link to it if you click on the 'Weight Loss NHS' banner at the top of the page). Also Lowcal does a weigh-in on Mondays. Maybe join that next Monday (look out for the post in the morning), or maybe search back through yesterday's posts and add your weight in for this week? It's a great way to feel like you're part of a community of people all aiming to achieve weight loss together :)
