HI There Hi!

You've come to the right place. Have you downloaded the NHS 12 week weight loss plan? Its what a lot of the folk here are doing - its how I found this site. The plan is dead easy and it works. Straightforward calorie counting, healthy eating choices, and getting some more exercise.

The 12 weeks is all about making behavioural changes that stick. Not just loosing weight to put it back on. I know this sounds glib but 10KG will be easy for you and you'll be surprised how quick you can do it. 12 weeks from now is 22 November. Thats less than 1KG a week. In 12 weeks you'll have completely changed your eating, drinking, and exercise routine. Honest - you are going to be really surprised.

Find the calorie target you need to hit to loose weight. Work out your meals - work through the plan. Ask all the questions you want here. Mine is 1500 per day.

Boom! Off you go!

Think of this question all the time "What have I done today to improve my health?

When you've got a little list as an answer you'll know you are on the right track.

I've never managed to systematically and intelligently loose weight previously. Last week I threw out over 20 pairs of trousers 'cos they were all too big. I'm just finishing week 9 and I'm about half way to my healthy weight. Half a bag of cement gone! Feels fab!

If I can do it YOU can do it!

Keep posting, keep asking questions!

Welcome :)

Many of us use the Myfitnesspal app for calorie counting. Its great - it can scan barcodes, import recipes from the web and calculate calories for them, works out your goal calories per day...and its free!

I use it with a Fitbit and the two work together seamlessly so its a great little system.

"I'm not an exercise fan"

Get outahere! I LOVE exercising and so does everyone else here. Getting out the door and pushing my 20 stone frame up a hill at fast pace while I sweat and gasp is my idea of total bliss :P

Sorry but you are not unique in that.

You CAN lose weight without exercising but you have to reduce your calories to compensate and you get none of the health benefits of regularly moving your body.

When we were cave men eating meant moving.

If we were hungry we had to go out and forage or hunt for our food, expending energy as we went along.

Now foraging for our food consists of finding your favorite chocolate in the mixed tray of chocolates next to the couch. :)

Commit to 30 minutes a day of walking for 30 days, rain hail or sleet, sickness or not.

I did this and buy the time I got to day 20 I was looking forward to the endorphin rush I would get from exercising.

You can do this!
