Hello I am wondering if anyone could tell me a good diet for quick weight loss I go to the gym 5 to sometimes 7 days a week and nothing seems to be happening!
Need to loose weight!: Hello I am... - Weight Loss Support
Need to loose weight!
If you lose more than 2 lb a week it just comes back. Proven. It can also stress your internal organs.
I know you want quick results so sorry to be so blunt. Never go for fast weight loss.
The best thing is to use the NHS guidance and count your calories, then there's no guess work and you're in control.
Best of luck.
I have done the 5:2 diet. You can read all about it online or search it on you tube. It doesn't suit everyone though and if yr prone to binge eating it may not work for you as after your fast day you may over eat.
The important thing to remember is, on yr fast day drink lots of water, and make sure the food you eat is healthy, like lots of veg, so you get some goodness. On the 5 normal eating days try and stick to 1600 - 1800 calories, but more if yr a man. Just try and eat healthily on the normal eating days but enjoy a treat, like one cake or one bar of chocolate, or a few drinks. On my normal eating days I enjoy toast, butter and jam, or crisps and have 2-3 glasses of wine on a Fri or Saturday night. I've lost a steady 1 to 1 and half pounds a week, and still losing.
My two typical fast days consist of:-
Breakfast - small bowl of non fat Greek yoghurt with a few strawberries and raspberries. 100 calories.
Lunch - half a tin of chunky soup, thicker the better! About 116 calories. Or a large salad with low calorie dressing. A large mound of rocket only has 4 calories! I put yellow pepper, red onion, tomatoes, radish, cucumber, and celery on, to make it varied and tasty. You can put a slice of ham on too.
Dinner - a small chicken breast or piece of fish with salad as above or a pile of veg, or the weight watchers ready meals are good for fast days too. The chicken hot pot is my favourite. My dinner aims to be around 250-300
So this totals 500. You are meant to count your tea and coffees too, and I do drink more hot drinks on fast days so sometimes I do go over the 500 to about 580-600 but I've still lost weight. I like this diet as it's also helped me go to the toilet easier! As I think it gives my body a break on fast days and helps clear my system. You are very hungry on fast days of course, but you can look forward to scrambled eggs on toast in the morning or cheese on toast for lunch! When you reach yr goal weight apparently you can do one fast day a week forever and the weight stays off. You just can't binge eat on normal eating days, that's why people put on weight cos they just don't realise how many calories they're consuming! Use my fitness pal and enter all the food you eat. You'd be amazed at how quickly the calories add up!
If yr a man yr fast days should be a total of 600 anyway.
Good luck! You can do it! Losing weight needs will power and commitment without question. But just imagine how great you will feel when the scales start going downwards!
Thank you so much!
I did the 5:2 as well and lost 20lb in ten weeks and that was allowing 800 calories a day on fast days.
You will not need nearly as much will power if you CUT THE SUGAR ! It always make you feel hungry again once your pancreas goes into overload mode to take all that harmful refined sugar out of your blood.
So check out that dietdoctor site as well.
Jam is 50% refined sugar added to natural fruit sugar. I loved it but not any more. One small jam tart a week is all I allow myself and that needs to be quickly followed by intensive exercise. So no exercise = no Jam, Tough but true.

Oh and also you shouldn't go to the gym on fast days! You just won't have the energy. So take these two days off!
I've started reading about Metabolic Training and its' ability to shift calories. Perhaps you would benefit from a re-valuation of your food and exercise regime!?
cheers,
