Hi there I currently weigh 11 stone and I am 5,2 feet.

I wanting to loose a stone as quick as possible, on the my fitness pal app it reccomends keeping calories to a to total of 1200, is this enough?? Or is this too high calorie ??

I am sure it is perfectly fine.

As you are short (like me) you don't need the same number of calories of someone who is much taller,

One can have good nutrition on 1200 calories provided you choose nutrient-rich foods,

I am 5ft 3 and 0.5 inches, fitnesspal gave me the same numbers as you. I stuck to the 1200 calories daily. And lost 3 st in 5mths, now 7lbs under goal and trying to maintain on 1500 calories, so yes, 1200 calories for your height is about right..Good luck..

I started using fitnesspal. Im on week 8 and so far lost 1 stone 2lbs. Ot suggested I stick to 1200 calories a day and I tried my best. But I am quite active at work and have horses so pretty much always on my feet. I also go to the gym 6 times a week. When I have done more in the day I do tend to eat more, but ita to keep my energy up. I also closely watch the nutrition part of this app to make sure im sticking to the guidelines.

This is a good likit of calories, I would advise not to go under this as you will struggle to get all the right nutrients you need which will not help your weight loss.

Good luck!

I personally think 1200 is too few. 1400 is the lowest I would ever go to. Have you ever seen that fat vs skinny programme with Dr christian off embarrassing bodies? One of the anorexic ones was putting in 1200 a day and he was barely skin and bone. You can change the fitness pal daily calories settings. The best way to lose weight and keep it off is gradually. 1-2 lbs a week. Any quicker and you are at risk of becoming a yo yo dieter like many of us on here.
