Weight loss stalled a little, going to try and eat a max of 1200 calories a day for a week to see if I can get it moving again.

That is quite low goragon 😕 Have you checked you BMI and target calories? Calorie cycling is one suggestion for getting off a plateau. (Eating more for a couple of days and then back to your original target.

Also, food quality is important, have a look at the Daily Diary for menu ideas

Hi goragon I can empathise with that. I've stayed the same the past few weeks. I t will come off I think we just have to be patient. I suppose it is unrealistic to expect to lose weight every week. Stick with it.

If you have hit a plateau, read this goragon - healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

Thanks Trimmerteacher that has given me something to think about. I laughed when I read the bit where it said if you hit traffic you don't just abandon your car and walk away. It is so true. Normally I would have been really hacked off by now and had reached for chocolate but these days I just think "why would I"

Hi there Goragon that shiny badge next to your name shows that you are doing something right. You must known your body's likely reaction to this by now. All that I can say is that I know that I would not lose weight cutting this low. I have tried and failed! A lot of people on here have also found the same. Why not try 5:2 or cutting out all sugar instead. I have not tried these but others have had great success. Another plateau beating strategy is to up calories to maintenance levels for a few days to get out of starvation mode then cut again. Good luck with it and well done on your loss. James

Dude, I cannot envisage any scenario in which 1200 cal/day is going to be beneficial to you.

Can you increase your calorie burn instead?

You've come a long way 💥

What's your top tip?

Pretty low calories for a man. Try upping the calories a bit.

Hi agree with what everyone had said- 1200 is low for a woman so definitely low for a man who should eat a minimum of 1900 according to the NHS 12 week weight loss plan if you don't want to use the NHS BMI calculator. If you eat too little your body thinks its being starved so stores all the calories in the fat cells. Hope its gets going again- also how close are you to your target weight? The closer you are the more difficult it becomes to loose weight
