Last week I weighed 14 stone 2.0 pounds, and today I weigh 14 stone 0.4 pounds, so I've lost 1.6 pounds this week. I am very happy with that loss. I managed to keep walking most days, and I went to the gym once. I meant to go twice, but only managed once.
I had a couple of meals out as well, and managed to choose healthy options. I find eating out to be particularly challenging, so I am really happy to have lost weight this week.
I sm hoping to lose at least a pound next week, but any loss would make me happy.
Good luck to everyone with your goals, and please do join me in this Monday weigh-in.

Well done. I am only starting this diet today but I usually eat fairly healthy food anyway although I do tend to pick some days which I am going to stop and hope to lose 1lb a week steadily over the next 12 weeks which will get me to my goal. I walk lots but want to increase my exercise plan so planning to use our Wii Fit a few times this week - need to get my daughters to set it up and show me how to use it first though!!!
Welcome! I hope you have a great first week, and that your daughters sort out the Wii Fit so you can start on that. Sounds like good fun. I have used it before, but it was a couple of years ago!
I also like walking regularly, and find that really good exercise. I am hoping to go to the gym a couple of times this week, as I only managed one session last week.
Hopefully your weight will start to shift lower very soon - hang in there and keep going! You'll see the benefits soon... I know how frustrating it is when it seems to stand still, but just think - you've not gained, and hopefully very soon you'll enjoy a good loss.
Thanks for your encouragement, I would be so thrilled if I can report on being below 14 stone next Monday. That is my goal...!
ANOTHER POUND ON! My god at this rate I will have put on 52 lb during the year. I have already missed all my Monday exercise due to other appointments and a late finish today, not surprised though as have weighed plus 11st all week and drunk my body weight in Chardonnay at mums birthday celebrations. Well done Lowcal you will be under 14 for sure, I can feel it in my water .....
I feel sure that you will lose weight next week - you had your Mum's Birthday celebration and weren't able to do your exercise this week, so it's bound to have taken its toll - but next week you will be lighter and back on track (I feel sure!).
I'm glad you 'feel it in your water' that I'll be under 14 stone next week, as I really hope that will be the case.
Hope you have a good week, and that you manage to get your exercise in.
That 's a scary thought - 52 pounds in a year - 3.5 stone. I am sure you won't let that happen - but it does make me pause to think about if only I lost a pound a week - what would I weigh.
I am a good time girl too - I think I have hung up my champagne glass for the time being (Boo- no more parties)- and it is slightly annoying the running does not counteract all these indulgences.
I am going to try and aim for a modest pound lost this week- but I have said that every week - sigh....
Normally I would be doing long runs on Sunday, last week was just 2 x 2 miles as I had a bad knee, and last Sunday the weather was soo bad 5 miles was all I could muster. That said I am working on uping my weights at body pump biceps look fab, if it wasn't for those bingo wings at the other side....
Hi Lowcal, I don't dare speaking about my slow progress. It is a constant up and down, slowly progressing. But I am in a good mood. The spring has still many weeks to come...
The important thing is that you are progressing, and also that you are in a good mood - I love the Spring months, and am really looking forward to seeing the daffodils etc bloom and brighten up the world again.
I want to start this diet but does it take a computer wizard to get on it do you get a help with calorie counter as you eat when they deduct the amount have you just got to do the counting I have lost 2and half stone on slimming world but need to loss more but I do not know where to go on this site the doctor advised me but what can I di
This is not a 'diet' but a way to change your way of eating and exercising for life. All the information you need to know on this website re healthy eating, weight loss and exercise. nhs.uk/LiveWell/weight-loss.... I have lost 22lb over a period and with exercise, changed my body shape. I use a wee book, - 'pocket calorie counter' which I got on Amazon- to add up my calories then
enter them on a printout of the website 12 week plan log. good luck with your weight loss journey.
oh great I see now but they said the calories would be deducted of what you eat any way I see what to do thank you I did start Monday lets see how we get on good luck and thanks again
Welcome, and I hope you get on ok with the NHS weight loss pages that Windswept1 indicated. Well done on losing your 2 and a half stone, that's really great, and best of luck for continuing to achieve your weight loss goals.
thank you very much I need to loss another 4 stone I could not afford 5 pound a week just to be weigh in but saying that the girls where great and gave you a boost I am stuck trying to get under 13 stone just cant well lets hope this will do the trick I will let you know
Hi, had a good week but then went abroad on a city break. Walked loads and relaxed the calories a little. Weighed myself yesterday and It was 5LBs higher! I couldn't believe it... Carried on as normal and then weighed my self again today and I'm 5lbs lighter. I have no idea why. Same scales etc and pretty sure they are fine. Can flying do that? Have lost 7lbs total (1lb last week) and now into 4th week. Enjoying C25K and eating healthy. Only 3 stones to go!
Wow, your scales certainly went up and down with that 5 pound higher and lower scenario. Glad you've lost them again! Congratulations on losing 7 lbs - that's a really good loss over the weeks. It was great that you were able to enjoy your city break too.
well done and I am sure you will be under that 14 stone on Monday.
I've not had a good time - I did lose 2 lbs somehow, but have been comfort eating. Both parents got taken into hospital last week - one had a fall, the other not fully diagnosed, not a heart attack but could be a heart problem, caused by stress and anxiety. So, left work and stayed at my parents for 3 days. Home for 1 night and on the 2nd night our cat disappeared, finally reappeared but has been run over (he is 16 years old and deaf) and so is at the vets with a 30% recovery chance, and us possibly having to make a horrible decision on Friday if there is no improvement. Needless to say, I have been eating as I am 'a little' stressed. Definitely not enjoying my food though and feel bloated and out of breath very quickly, which is what I will have to try to remember. Work isn't very busy either so plenty of time to get bored and snack. No exercise being done and just want to eat/sleep (which I know is conected).
Now, if this was someone elses' tale of woe, I know what advice I would be giving .... so, perhaps I better give it to myself. Not working tomorrow, first physio appointment on my feet after my operation in October, so after that, I think a short walk to start the exercise gently and the fresh air will help.
I'll see what the damage is on Monday. I can't afford to give up - the goal of August is coming quickly.
I am so sorry to hear about your parents' hospitalisation, and I hope they are receiving good care and hopefully being given the treatment they need. Also, very sorry to hear about your cat - I really hope he is comfortable and that they can do something to help him. I know you have to make a decision on Friday if there is no improvement, but I sincerely hope that things go well. Be kind to yourself in any case, because you are facing so much stress with all of this.
You did well to lose 2 pounds with all that in the background. I hope your physio appointment has gone ok, how are your feet feeling now? Have you been able do do that short walk in the fresh air yet? I hope the weather was kind to you - it's been so rainy and windy lately, but there are occasionally sunny spells, so hopefully you were able to time your walk to make the most of the drier time.
Like you say, don't give up, as your August goal is still several months away, and so you have time.
Well done on your weight loss. I am new here but would love to join the Monday weigh in. I am starting on the nhs 12 week plan on Monday as I found it today and let's face it, no diet starts at a weekend hoping that this will be the lifestyle change I so desperately need. I'm currently at 14 st 0lbs and need to lose 4 stones to be in a healthy weight.
Welcome and hope you are enjoying the weekend so far. Great that you are going to start the NHS 12 week plan on Monday - you have already made the first step in terms of committing to starting the plan, and you have your long-term goal.
