Last Monday I weighed 13 stone 12.8 pounds, and today I weigh 13 stone 12.2 pounds, so I've lost 0.6 pound this week. I realise my weight loss is slowing down a bit, but I am thankful it is still a loss, and am happy with that. I managed to go to the gym twice this week, and also did walks on 4 other days.
I had set myself a goal to do some weight-training, but I haven't managed to do that yet, so I will try to do some this week. This week will be a bit more challenging as I have a couple of meals out to go to - so I am going to try to choose the healthier options where possible!
Hope you've had a good week, and looking forward to hearing how you've got on.

Fabulously well done Lowcal - your aim now should be no what you won't go over into 14 stone.
I say this as someone as you know has not shifted in weeks but I have kept below 12 stone - which while lame - I do regard in hindsight as an achievement.
Anyway drum roll - I am pleased to report 1.25 pounds gone - so I have gone from 11 13 to 11 11.75. I am so pleased to be able to report that - no spectacular effort on my part - it just happened - but it has spurred me on. so a modest pound this week will get me back to 11 10 which I was at the beginning of Dec.
Good you have lost again - all those half pounds mount up - see you next week
Many congratulations on your 1.25 pounds weight loss - that is really great. Thank you also for your encouraging words, and your very good advice about the goal to keep under the 14 stone mark (in my case) - as I know how wise that is, and I will definitely try my best to remain under it! I know how tough that is, and I am especially cautious knowing I have some meals out to get through this week.
Good luck for this week. You are doing really great.
Hello ladies a good week for us all well done Lowcal and Suzy I am 10.13, dispute all those meals out, ramped up the exercise to hep combat it, only two meals out this week a valentines and a retirement .......
Just wanted to say well done on your loss,it doesn't matter that it's small,it's still an achievement and the scales are still on their way down and not gradually creeping up which I imagine they were before you started the challenge,I've lost 2 and a half this week so I'm very happy with that,I think as the weeks go by we will need this forum more than ever as spirits can start flagging a little, good luck this week and enjoy yourself when you go out, just skip the dessert and you'll be fine I'm sure xx
Congratulations on your great weight loss this week - 2.5 pounds is incredible. Thanks for your words of encouragement, and let's hope the scales keep showing a loss!
You would never let the team down - don't even say it! You are always so encouraging and positive, and like you say - 'new week challenge' and you'll soon shift those pounds.
Good afternoon Lowcal! Sounds like you had another great week.
Do you have a weight-training plan? I can't remember if you said you have done weight training before, but it really helped me to get started by having a 12 week training plan at the beginning - I planned for 2 sessions a week. It was kind of intimidating not knowing how to do anything, so it was good to have some guidance on what exercises to do and numbers of sets and reps. I downloaded my plan from my gym's website but I think there are also plenty of free guides on the internet too.
My weight this morning was 63kg exactly, so I'm still making slow but steady progress. Long term goal is to get below 60kg and aim to maintain around 58-60kg. I think I should be happy with that weight.
I went for a shopping trip at the weekend and realised that I am now a size 10 (small!) for tops. Kind of boggles my mind that I would ever be a size small, but there you go. TKMax also has a much bigger selection of things to choose from out of size 10, compared to size 18! Got three lovely new tops for work and three new jumpers as well.
Congratutions on your weight loss, and also on being able to buy those lovely new tops in that small size 10 - that's amazing! Great that they have a good range to choose from as well.
I really appeciate your suggestion of getting hold of a weight-training plan, because I really hadn't considered how I was going to 'do' the weight training, which is probably why I didn't manage to do any last week (despite setting it as a goal). I am going to look out for a plan online, and like you said, I'll try to commit to some 'sessions' specifically to do the exercises.
Hope you have a great week, and enjoy wearing your new tops!
Well done - bit by bit the goal gets closer and that 14 stone gets further away. Sounds like you've had another steady week and as we all keep being told, steady is good.
I've had a very good week and got back on track (about time). Lost 6lbs! If I attack the gain quite quickly after it has gone on, a large weight loss first week is normal for me. I also thought I would try the 5:2 diet for a change and to motivate me (having checked with my GP first that he was happy for me to give it a go). I actually did a 6:1 week and found that on the 6 days, I thought more about what I ate - I even put away a large bowl and got out a small one for some trifle - pretty unheard of.
I'll see how this week goes with trying for 2 fasting days. I will be grateful for any weight loss after the last week.
I am so happy to hear that you've had a good weight loss this week, and 6 pounds is incredible. Very well done! You mentioned also that you used a smaller bowl for your trifle - I usually use a smaller plate for lunches than I used to, and I found that works well in terms of helping me to watch my portion sizes. I have a normal plate size for my evening meal though.
Good luck with the 5:2 diet - it will be interesting to hear how you find it compared to the 6:1 week you tried before. Are you going to do 2 consecutive fasting days, or split them up. I have tried that diet in the past, and I did find it worked in terms of losing weight - I found that I had to split up the fasting days instead of doing it consecutively, because it was just too hard for me otherwise. I have to say that I've not done it for some time, because I did find it difficult to fast.
Currently, I'm trying to keep my blood sugars as stable as possible, by eating lower glycaemic index foods wherever possible, and avoiding processed foods as much as possible. I have a mid afternoon snack most days, and find that helps me to keep going. After my evening meal at night I only have a piece of chocolate with a coffee, and then I don't eat anything else till my breakfast. I think I would over-indulge if I allowed myself to have any other snacks in the evening. I find the weekends the hardest from that point of view, because they tend to keep advertising high calorie snacks one after the other most of Friday and Saturday evenings!!!
Glad to hear you're back on the wagon and that you have a good plan regarding your meal chart - that must take a lot of preparation, and I am sure it will be worth it.
Keep going and you will reap the benefit, and hope you have a good week.
Good you lost, something is better than nothing, keep trying it will get easier, you didn't gain it over night so your not going to lose it overnight, good luck
