Hi all, have recently been given desogestrel to take to try and help stop this constant brown discharge that I've been getting as a result of my PCOS. Been taking it for just over 2 weeks now and the brown discharge has just turned into bleeding for the last week. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm hoping it stops soon but the advice leaflet is very vague. It says you can have irregular bleeding or spotting but to contact your doctor if it's prolonged - how are they defining prolonged? I read on another website that you can have irregular bleeding for 3-4 months until your body gets used to the hormones... that's ages!

When I took it for 3 months it didn’t make me bleed at all, just gave me headaches. Like migraine grinding ones ouch! I would at least contact a dr to check. I got so worried I wasn’t bleeding on these after 3 months I got in a panic. So ended up emergency calling dr. X
My gyn said reactions vary a lot they also don't know how your body will react, I bled for a couple of weeks, then spotted, then stopped , so it took like a month. It keeps working now (2 months later) but it makes me feel bad, mind fog, exhausted, stomach bloating .. sad.. i really hate it actually but if i stop i bleed out. So i feel trapped on it. I only take it till my hysterectomy.
