Was this my period or spotting?

I have PCOS. On CD 36 i had dark brown "bleeding" for 4 days. It was very light but at no point did I have any red blood. I'm not sure if it was just spotting but if spotting would it last as long as 4 days? It seemed a bit more like discharge as opposed to regular flow . This was 2 weeks ago now. I done a pregnancy test yesterday but clear. I'm just unsure as to whether to count this as a period or not?

I would personally count it as a period, brown blood is old blood

Thanks! I had read this could be the case. I was due to start my second cycle of Clomid but as I didn't think this was a period or that it might have been the beginning of a period I didn't start so will wait until next month 🙂

Thats so annoying, am surprised after first round of clomid it didn't give you a proper flow. If I was you I'd ask to take norethistrone (think that's how you spell it) rather than waiting to see if you have a proper flow next month. Also if you don't ovulate with clomid ask about letrozole. Clomid didn't work for me. Been trying to concieve for 10 years and finally fell pregnant second cycle on letrozole.

So I had my first clomid cycle in march (Provera induced as no period since coming off the pill March 2019). I had a period at the end of the first clomid cycle which worked out 30 days but as I had to stop due to lockdown its thrown things out of sync. During lockdown I then had a period 8 weeks after the clomid one and then if what I've just mentioned was a period, that was 35 days so it sounds like it may be getting there with regards becoming a bit more regular but as soon as I can get going with the second clomid cycle that will help! I've been told if nothing in a couple of weeks to call back and I can have the Provera to encourage things and get going with the next clomid cycle but hopefully I won't need it. Thanks for your advice and congratulations! 😊

I'll keep a note of this and if no luck with clomid will ask about this so thanks for mentioning. Wishing you all the best

I think this depends on you your cycle and what's normal for each individual. Personally I would get a doctors appointment and get checked.. if you want to regulate your cycle there are ways of doing this.. diet is a big on gluten free lacto free is a must as well as low carbs (do the research pintrest has amazing information type in pcos diet or pcos supplements ) i also had very irregular periods i missed for maybe 10 years and had the very odd old blood spotting.. i have now regulsted to monthly but its tough.. i recommend a supplement called inositol and b12 for a start but do the research and get a doc app. Good luck
