I recently had a transvaginal scan and it showed that one of my ovaries was covered in cysts and very swollen and I have a Fibroids
I got admitted to the hospital a week ago because I was in so much pain I passed out. They kept me overnight for observation and sent me home with painkillers. Only problem is the pain is getting worse and I still keep passing out.
My husband and I were wanting to start a family but all I can think about is ending this constant pain. I only have my husband for support our families are not understanding especially my father in law.
I'm not getting help off my gyneacologist either. I keep getting told to take painkillers. But they don't work anymore. I was supposed to have a lap in July. Then I've been told by Christmas now been told I could be waiting a year due to funding issue.
Now thinking if it's worth going down the private route for the lap. But not sure of the costs.
Can I please have advise. I'm really desperate to end this pain.

This sounds more like endometriosis rather than pcos as generally pain is not a symptom of it but is of endo, it is not uncommon to have both pcos and endo as well - sadly the only way to confirm is via a laparoscopy which obviously is in the pipeline - I would ask for contact details for the laparoscopy and say you will take a short notice cancellation and then just keep contacting them. I would see an endocrinologist rather than a gynae as endo and pcos is their area and not really the gynae. I know the NHS is strapped for cash but it is ridiculous to be left hanging when you are in so much pain. I would go back to the GP and perhaps take your husband and really push further for it as it is causing you to pass out which is not right at all. Good luck, just keep being a total pain in their butt
Thank you for the reply I was diagnosed at 16 that I have endometriosis. But was diagnosed in May this year with pcos. I've been back to the gp today and they are going to get me an urgent referral. So hopefully things get moving soon.
