Iperez,

I am a 74 your old nan with phase 4 prostate cancer with bone metastasis. I was diagnosed in August 2011. The bone mets are to numerous to count per nuclear scan report. My Gleason score was 9 and psa counts don't work with me for some reason. I am on my second round of taxotere 3 out of 6. Zytiga failed me in July 2017. My oncologist has suspended xgeva because I may have ostenecorsis. He will continue to hold xgeva until the oral surgeon verifies what it is. Here is a list of my meds so far.

Taxotere, Zoladex, Lupron, Zytiga, Prednisone, Xofigo and now back to taxotere.

I have a pacemaker, kidney failure, liver disease (non alcohol related).

Iperez,

I looked at your list of medications and noticed that you have not used Jevtana (cabazitaxel) or Xtandi. You might want to ask your doctor about these, but Jevtana is probably the best option because of the Zytiga may have encouraged you to have developed resistance to the Xtandi.

As far as clinical trials your co-morbidities might make you unable to qualify for a trial.

Also, I am starting a new online/telephone support group for men with advanced and metastatic prostate cancer. It will be hald on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month. Go to CancerABCs.org and click on the Support Group page or the calendar for additional information and how to sign on to the group.

While you are on the page check out our other information as well as our Advanced Metastatic Prostate Cancer Blog, our Localized Prostate Cancer Blog and the Rare and Multi-Cancer Blog.
