Xofigo

Will greatly appreciate any thoughts you might share concerning stopping Xofigo at this time. Thank you.

Is there anyone here who has had Xofigo and can say that it helped lower the pain or cure the pain in their bones? Despite looking, I have, somewhat surprisingly, not managed to find any stories like this.

Might anyone have experience or thoughts on ending Xofigo early? Always grateful for your input.

2014 brachytherapy, 2018 salvage prostatectomy, lupron, abitaterone/ presnidone, xofigo, docetaxel, pluvicto, PSA rose to 70. Roller coaster ride after 2018 with each treatment except pluvicto, psa rose from 20 to 40 now 70.

Began to climb again April this year and Xofigo was suggested. I've now completed 3 of 6 treatments. Told Xofigo isn't to reduce PSA by my MO yet PSA began to decline. From 4.27 early June, to 3.97 in July and 3.20 this month (within testing margin of error?).

Ceased being effective April of this year.Recently began being treated with Radium223 (Xofigo) but not sure whether I want to proceed further. I'm told Xofigo may add 2-4 months of life.

My oncologists team suggests Xofigo/Ra-223 as a next step, with a possible continuation with Pluvicto later on. Has anyone had Xofigo for only bone metastasis? What was your experience ? Were you able to function between the four/six sessions? How fatigued were you?

Has anyone experienced lung damage (pulmonary fibrosis) from xofigo?

I received the first of 6 Xofigo infusions 3/12/24. I will receive SBRT to the lesion on my left ilium between the 2nd and 3rd Xofigo infusions.

Then they want to try Xofigo or a different chemo. My dad is bummed. He thinks his prostate cancer is turned aggressive and is losing hope. Anyone else out there had similar experience and can offer some hope that there is something that will still work. His PSA never rose this rapidly before.

He is on Xofigo. We are devastated.

He was so strong tried so hard, 2 clinical trials radiation, Zytiga, Xofigo, lupron for the entire time. Finally at age 65 his body could take no more, he lost over 40 pounds, no energy, last scan showed mass on pancreas, more than likely prostate cancer.

how fast did you see results with Xofigo? What changed in your bloodwork? thank you for sharing. ellie

His leg was healing slowly, and due to his broken tibia and fibular, the consultant had to postpone his Xofigo treatment as that would prevent the leg break from healing properly. He had been on abiraterone and pred but his PSA had been rising rapidly. Hence the plan to start Xofigo.

While this is mostly relevant for those with bone mets, it does indicate better OS with the combo of Xtandi and Xofigo (2 Xs are better than 1).

Recently began Radium223 (Xofigo) treatment. Not sure if I will continue with Xofigo.

Xofigo (Radium-223) Hematologic: Moderate risk of anemia, leukopenia, and thrombocytopenia. Renal: Minimal renal toxicity. Liver: No direct hepatotoxicity. Cardiovascular: Rare cardiovascular effects, but bone marrow suppression can indirectly affect cardiovascular health.

I had my first round of Xofigo and began experiencing intermittent headaches throughout the day. MO is puzzled but Nuclear Medicine mentioned headaches as a possible short term side effect. Would love to hear from you all on your experience going through Xofigo treatment. Happy Thanksgiving !

We're currently on Xofigo round 4 (reduced mets by 50% but still a lot of pain), Keytruda round 4 and Cabo (cabometyx) holiday. He takes Oxycodone and ibuprofen for pain (but the ibuprofen seems to be hurting this stomach lately). We're looking into euthanasia (no rush but best be prepared).

Tall_Allen mentioned adding xofigio for better results, but I haven't had a chance to discuss xofigo with my doctor yet. I'm on triplet therapy, chemo part finished last May. Became mCRPC last September.
