Xgeva

Thank you so much to all the people who replied to my post re tooth pain and xgeva. I did visit my dentist who confirmed there is no sign of infection with an X-ray. I have still got some tooth pain and earache.

I have had two injections of this drug. Is anyone experiencing tooth pain so soon after starting treatment

I was receiving Xgeva when they spotted something they thought was possible necrosis in my left jaw. Told me to quit Xgeva. I stopped Xgeva for 2 years. Now they want me back on it. I visited an oral surgeon who told me the spot was definitely not necrosis. With that I can restart Xgeva.

I stopped getting Xgeva shots due to side effects and the fact that the worst number on my Dexa scan was -.1. Soon after I stopped the Psa and alp both started to rise very slowly. Anyone experience this? MO is already talking chemo after a pet scan and bypassing Xtandi.

I know Xgeva may cause osteonecrosis of the jaw. My question is can TMJ be signs of early onset osteonecrosis? I mentioned this to my MO last week. I am monitoring the situation. My MO mentioned a possible switch to Zometa. That med appears to have worse S/E. Thanks!

after receiving my first monthly Xgeva injection I experienced a moderate cytokine release syndrome for several days: high fever, rapid heart rate, uncontrolled chills, and shaking, low oxygen, crackling lungs, pneumonia-like symptoms, severe headache…..

Been on Zytiga over a year, taken with Xgeva and Lupron. During the two pill test period of Zytiga, no food - 2hrs and + 1hr, my T and PSA became undetectable. Convinced the powers to continue with 2 pills to possibly reduce side effects and prolong effectiveness.

I'm being kept on Apalutamide with Xgeva injections to be added tri-monthly. Might there suggestions for treatment options to address the PC going forward? Sincere thanks to all for reading.

Been on Lupron, Xgeva ADT + Abi +P for 2 years, PSA and T unmeasurable. for most of this time. Taking only 500 x 1 Zytiga daily w/o food (convinced ONC to continue test dose that worked) + 10 mg Prednisone that has lots of my suspect SE's associated.

Xgeva seems better. Any thoughts about this.

I have been on Xgeva for about 3 years. Now my dentist says that I have osteonecrosis of the jaw because a piece of dead bone was found on my lower jaw. The piece of bone was removed and the hole is not closing up. What do I do? Any advise?

Attaching dad’s dexa scan. Shows osteoporosis and osteopenia in some places. He has bone mets. One MO has prescribed 60 mg Denusomab once in 6 months. And another has prescribed 120 mg every month !! What do most people take

My question is about Xgeva , I am really NOT in favor of taking it and wanted to do things naturally. Is anyone currently taking Xgeva shots and how often and for how long and what is your experience . Thank you so very much for any info

Currently on 75mg Ibrance (three weeks on, two off) and letrozole daily with Xgeva shots quarterly. My neutrophils haven't been great - never over .9 and occasionally .6 or .7 but my doc doesn't think that's too important.

My MO wants to continue xgeva for one more year, suggesting it will help bones strengthen after radiation. I was and still am hormone sensitive, so starting treatment with xgeva is questionable. Does it make any sense to continue with xgeva after sbrt?

I also had a an xgeva injections recently and have had increased pain and extreme pain on urination. This is also "under control" with morphine. Doctors are not terribly concerned and are supposedly good ones. Am I missing something, are they?

MO wants me on Exgeva stat. I have several spine mets. Currently on my 4th infusion of chemo.My dentist says do get a deep clean first. Relayed that info to the MO who said take care of the spine first. .Worry about ONJ later. Has anyone had a deep cleaning while on Exgeva? Thxs in advance.

Consequently, they probably won't restart my quarterly Xgeva (bisphosphenate) shot, so my osteopenia and crumbling spinal vertebrae will do what?

That said, he's more tired, more worn out from his nearly 11 years of heavy-duty treatment--radiation, Eligard, Zytiga (failure) Xgeva (now back on every 3 months after it was cut back to twice a year).

I'm several months away from Medicare and really don't want to fork over 3k a month for Xgeva. I asked if I could do Xgeva every 3 months and just pay out of pocket and was told you need it monthly. Will I be screwing myself by waiting for Medicare?
