Xgeva

On a previous post I said that I insisted on discontinuing Xgeva (afraid of the osteonecrosis of the jaw it can cause) injection once a month ( I actually only got the first injection) I got some negative feedback here for this.

Xgeva every 3 months, Xofigo every month for 6 months and possibly add enzalutamide. What do you think of this plan, Thanks,

I’ve been on xgeva for 2 years with no side effects. In a month I change to zometa. What can I expect. Has anyone else changed to zometa?

His oncologist wants him to also start XGeva. The XGeva injections were postponed until after he had dental crown work done. He had an appointment for that on 2/6 which has been delayed because he tested + for Covid. His rescheduled appointment is for 2/21.

3 years on Eligard Abiraterone, Xgeva and Prednisone and lately the fatigue is unbearable, particularly after I eat a late breakfast or early lunch. And it really doesn't matter what I eat Anyone else have this?

well I finally got to meet with y Oncologist last week regarding use of estradiol (e2) patch to battle against osteoporosis / osteopenia because the 90 day Xgeva dosing (down from every 28 daysx 2 years) doesn't seem to be doing much.

I was scheduled to start Xgeva. As I have been diagnosed with osteoporosis due to having ADT since 2017. What other treatment should I look forward to having. Thanks Rick PSA is 4.66

Started (cab) in September of 2022, on 3 month elgard, next one is February along with xgeva and my 9th infusion.

Am taking Xgeva shots going on 9 years. Is it possible to bring down markers with Letrozole only if you have a slow grower? Has anyone had success with that? I had a Dr. at The Cleveland Clinic tell me this was the treatment of choice before Ibrance was created.

Is it normal to experience bone, joint, and muscle pain 3-5 days after receiving Xgeva injection? The pain is mostly in my hips, thighs, and spine and lasts about a month. The pelvis area is also affected. Or, are these symptoms from the 3 month Eligard I receive at the same time?

I started right away on Casodex, then Eligard, Zytiga, and prednisone, and later began monthly Xgeva. Xgeva has since been weened to every three months (April 2022), and within 6-7 months, I suffered my first Vertebral fracture (t-11) compression fracture "Osteoporotic".

All labs are good….PSA down from 250 to 215, hemoglobin is at 8.5, calcium is slightly lower so his Xgeva be held in the month of June, Alk Phosphates were 500, now down to 215….and they’ll recheck a few days before treatment.

I was recently diagnosed with bladder cancer to keep my prostate cancer company (see my post a couple of days ago, or my profile).I have an appointment tomorrow with my MO, but he has scheduled me to begin XGeva infusions tomorrow (which is to strengthen bones).

I was receiving Xgeva every 4 weeks for 2 years, and suddenly my Oncologist cut it back to every 3 months......can anyone explain why? Does it even do any good to have that much time between injections? I thought it had a 28 day half-life Help!!

They shrugged it off every time I mentioned it saying, your psa is steady, you're on xgeva (maintenance dose every 3 months) so we don't suspect it's your mets.

I get an xgeva shot once a month. Bone lesions are filled in no new ones. I almost made it to 10 years with NED . I’m 70 and will just keep moving forward 😊

Is there any benefit to dosing Xgeva at 90 day intervals, vs the usual 4 week intervals. Everything I read seems to indicate " useless if not given every 4 weeks".

To maintain bone health I've been eating a cup of full fat along with my 90-day Xgeva shot. Also have trouble with left kidney failing so I have not started the statin yet. Add to that close to being accepted on Eclipse Trial. Advice?

After a year undetectable on Orgovix and Xgeva What are my options now? If second generation meds are needed, which has the least side effects? Xofigo? Pluvicto? Provenge?

I'm asking myself Why The F@@k have I been destroying my body with a drug ( XGEVA) that was supposed to prevent this? Is it time for a vacation from ADT, or time for a new Oncologist, or both?
