I want to get my bloods tested privately before seeing my Endo in 2 weeks to compare to my 2 previous bloods from last year as I've changed some things since then. Since that time I have started taking Three Arrows, Ingennus B, Better You Vitamin D with K2 Spray and Magnesium Citrate and BisGlycinate.
Can anyone recommend which company does the best "all inclusive" blood tests as ideally along with my thyroid tests I'd love to get Iron, Magnesium, Vit D, Folate and B12 included. Is there such a test with the private companies that anyone has used? I see Blue Horizon has one but it seems to only say it does Ferritin not Iron? Or do I need a separate one.
I know how to optimally do the blood test i.e what time of day, what to avoid and that I need to stop my iron and B12 5-7 days beforehand just not sure which kit to get. I'm having the blood draw done at a Clinic so doesn't need to be a home fingerprick test.

IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 3-5 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results
In days before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate folate supplement (eg Jarrow methyl folate 400mcg) and continue separate B12 if last test result serum B12 was below 500 or active B12 (private test) under 70
Separate iron panel test
Test early morning, only water to drink between waking and test. Avoid high iron rich dinner night before test
If taking any iron supplements stop 3-5 days before testing
If you normally take levothyroxine at bedtime/in night ...adjust timings as follows prior to blood test
If testing Monday morning, delay Saturday evening dose levothyroxine until Sunday morning. Delay Sunday evening dose levothyroxine until after blood test on Monday morning. Take Monday evening dose levothyroxine as per normal
Thanks. That’s helpful I will probably do iron separately then. My bloods are being taken by a nurse locally & I’ll send them off. I haven’t done finger prick before and whilst I’m sure it’s not an issue, I want to make sure I get all my results I need in preparation for seeing my Endo the week after.
I know I have Hashimoto’s as was tested last year (TG) so do I need to continually test/monitor the antibodies?
As you know you will need to stop the igennus for 3-5 days before you test, (it’s the biotin that messes with the thyroid testing assay).
think about what day of the week you want to have the draw and how long it’ll take to turn around the testing before your appointment. They often suggest you draw Mon-Weds so testing and posting aren’t impacted by the weekend.
I’ve just ordered the Medichecks advanced thyroid which has everything you mention minus magnesium (which I don’t bother with). It cost me £72 with a code on a banner on the site.
Thanks. Yes I’m aware of all the protocols from all the helpful advice from this forum so know what I’m doing on that front just not which tests to get as this is my first time purchasing kits and doing it this way. Last year I had all my bloods done privately at the hospital the Endo works at but at almost £500 it’s not a route I want to permanently be travelling!
Yes and they only tested TPO and I had to push for TG and they said it was “missed” and of course subsequently came back high and confirmed what I suspected all along. You really do have to be your own advocate even if you are private and paying through the nose.
