Testing protocols followed. Added in a second 5mcg T3 Lio 11 weeks ago roughly. Now taking 100 levo daily at 11pm & 5mcg Lio T3 at 7am & 2pm. I am feeling the best I've felt in ages really. I have a spring in my step every day, I'm more active and I've lost weight. I've also started dreaming. I rarely dream, I'm assuming that's the T3 getting where it needs to?! Still don't feel 100% though, my digestion is still too slow and I'm really tired by about 7pm. Also my sleep is a bit disturbed. So I think I still need a tiny tweak in my dose maybe. More levo? What do you guys think? SlowDragon ?
Currently taking 4000 daily of vitd3/K2. I'd like to up my levels slightly. What increase would get me optimal? ( also taking B12 spray, occasional separate folate, I stopped B Complex due to acne, acne now cleared, also take magnesium )
Also historically my iron and ferritin has been terrible. I was on iron tablets from the Gp and stopped taking them in October. My plan was to try three arrows this year, so did another iron panel first for most upto date results and to check with FallingInReverse that all was still OK to proceed. However my iron test failed, I re did it, but it has come back weird. I have been unwell, but did wait 2weeks before testing, but wonder if that wasn't long enough and has still effected the results. My Ferritin has doubled since my thyroid test 2 weeks previous and transsaturation which was below range last test in November is now high. I will re do the test and won't start the three arrows yet. How long should I wait before re testing?
6 Feb
Crp 2.97 (<3)
Iron 27 (10-30)
Tibc 52 (45-82)
Uibc 25 (13-56)
Trans Sat 52 (25-45)
Ferritin 116 (30-207)
Does that sound OK? Thankyou for all your advice!

Thankyou, I will do that . I am due back at the endo in May, hopefully he will test, otherwise will order a test myself again. Re the inflammation, Ive had a cold , so I suspect I should of hung off and waited another week before testing.
Hi! Happy to weigh in, it’s just Monday started with a bang at work this week!
Quick reply - in my experience with getting sick and testing iron… it’s a double edged sword… because when you are sick (virus, bad cold) I always take a break from iron.
Viruses and bacteria feed off of iron. So starving it if that is a good idea. Of course how long… well, one does have to balance it.
If I were you, I’d wait until at least a week and maybe two after the cold/virus passed. Did you feel good for the two weeks you waited or did you still feel a little under the weather? Your CRP is obviously an indicator that your body is still suffering inflammation and isn’t it interesting to see ferritin jump like we are told it does!
The sick/inflammation makes the results unreliable enough to re test. How long have you felt better since your illness?
Can you clarify the dates of those two results above - maybe edit the list so it’s easy to eyeball.
Also, always helpful to be clear on chronology… so exactly how much iron supplements through October? If that’s all spelled out in previous post, I’ll also have to look back for comparison when I have a minute.
Thankyou. I waited about 10 days before testing, but although I felt better then, even now I still have a bit of a lingering cough. I will re-test iron once the cough has fully gone! If ok with you, I will tag you again once Ive got the results to check that I am ok to start the iron.
Re my history, the iron supplements I was taking 210 ferrous fumerate every other day for years. Sometimes daily. But I stopped at my last blood test Oct/Nov.
I’ll also say that when one says “I feel good but could I feel better…”, it never hurts to do nothing and wait a little while longer as SD says. I was given that advice once and it stuck with me : )
