How did you take this test?

Time of day?

When was last dose of Levo before the test?

Likely you dont feel well because you're not on high enough dose. TSH is above 2, needs to be 1 or just below.

FT4 only 50% of range, FT3 21% of range.

Suggest you raise dose by up to 25mcgs a day.

Vit D is deficient. Suggest you start a 3,000iu vit D with K2 to help it go to your bones.

How are other vitamins ferritin, folate & B12?

Do you mean 100mcg twice a week and 5 days a week you take 87.5mcgs or you just take 100mcgs twice a week?

You're just not on a high enough dose, you need to increase.

Do you have vitamin results?

Try 100mcgs all week, 7 days.

Essential to optimise vitamin levels to aleviate symptoms and use thyroid hormone well.

no B12, folate or ferritin test results

Are you currently taking any B vitamins?

How much vitamin D are you currently taking

Aim to increase vitamin D to around 40ng/ml

(that’s 100nmol in U.K. units)

Retest thyroid levels again after 8 weeks on 100mcg levothyroxine daily

B12 far too low

With serum B12 result below 500, (Or active B12 below 70) recommended to be taking a separate B12 supplement

A week later add a separate vitamin B Complex

Then once your serum B12 is over 500 (or Active B12 level has reached 70), you may be able to reduce then stop the B12 and just carry on with the B Complex.

If Vegetarian or vegan likely to need ongoing separate B12 few times a week

B12 range in U.K. is too wide

Interesting that in this research B12 below 400 is considered inadequate

And why aiming to keep B12 over 500 recommended

Low folate

supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in (not folic acid)

This can help keep all B vitamins in balance and will help improve B12 levels too

Difference between folate and folic acid

Many Hashimoto’s patients have MTHFR gene variation and can have trouble processing folic acid supplements

B vitamins best taken after breakfast

Igennus B complex popular option. Nice small tablets. Most people only find they need one per day. But a few people find it’s not high enough dose

Post discussing different B complex

healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

Thorne Basic B recommended vitamin B complex that contains folate, but they are large capsules. (You can tip powder out if can’t swallow capsule) Thorne can be difficult to find at reasonable price, should be around £20-£25. iherb.com often have in stock. Or try ebay

IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 5-7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

endocrinenews.endocrine.org...

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate folate supplement (eg Jarrow methyl folate 400mcg) and continue separate B12

when i raise to 100mg euthyroxo i get like sweling inside my throat and cough and very bad runny nose after the two days that i take 100 and i am back to 87.5 it stops and it gets beter two days after

SlowDragon profile image
SlowDragonAdministrator in reply tomorcan54

You need to stay on higher dose 6-8 weeks allow levels to settle

Does euthyroxo contain lactose (milk)

morcan54 profile image
morcan54 in reply toSlowDragon

is only brand i can get in cyprus no another is t4 and euthyrox both have lactose

Are you 100% sure about Euthyrox containing lactose?

Merck, makers of Euthyrox, have changed from lactose to mannitol across the world. I thought they had completed that process.

The new formulation is:

Excipients: Mannitol, maize starch, gelatin, crosscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate.

But I haven't found the Cyprus-specific document!

i started 100mg everuy day but i hae low pulse 58 and hbp not feeling well i am 70 years old maybe i need lower dose?

SlowDragon profile image
SlowDragonAdministrator in reply tomorcan54

Low pulse is hypothyroid symptom

You need to wait for 100mcg dose to settle and retest in 6-8 weeks

Meanwhile working on improving low vitamin levels is also very important
