Could anyone give advice on latest results pls

Having had my T4 reduced from 100mcg to 50mcg, I finally managed to get it increased from 50mcg to 75mcg. The latest test results are below, and I'd be interested in opinions. I feel I should increase back to 100mcg, and I think my results show room for improvement?

I currently take 50mcg T3 & 75mcg T4.

The lab report has warnings all over the TSH result, of course, and the doc wants to talk to me!

TSH result below the reference range is consistent with over treatment with Levothyroxine if monitoring primary hypothyroidism. Consider reducing Levothyroxine dose and retesting TSH in 3 months

I have an appointment on Wed so would like some help please.

TEST RESULTS:

I had Bone profile, HbA1C, Kidney function, Full blood count, B12 (clearly stated Do Not Test on the form) and the following..........

free T3 level - 5.2 pmol/L (3.50 - 6.50pmol/L)

free T4 level - 8.1 pmol/L (7.00 - 17.00pmol/L)

total 25-OH vit D level 84.6 nmol/L (50.10 - 200.00nmol/L)

TSH level <0.01 mIU/L ( 0.38 - 5.33mIU/L)

ferritin 105 ug/L (12.00 - 240.00ug/L)

folate 23.1 ug/L ( >2.90ug/L)

HbA1c levl - IFCC standardised 37 mmol/mol (20.00 - 41.00mmol/mol)

Thank you

I see from your post a few days ago that your T3 isn’t prescribed.

I suspect it won’t matter what you try to say if you have a GP who’s wedded to the sanctity of TSH.

It was NHS prescribed for over 20 years, and I'm no longer with the GP who took away my T4. This one has already increased me by 25mcg, based on symptoms, so I'm hopeful. I'm looking for advice on all the results, except the TSH, which she accepted was suppressed by the T3. Everything is in range but ..........

50mcg dose T3 is high dose if also taking levothyroxine

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)

T3 ….day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, with last dose approximately 8-12 hours before test

is this how you did your test

You might need to LOWER T3 by 5mcg per day if you increase your Ft4+

HiThank you gor replying.

I always split the T3 dose, T4 was 24 hrs, water only. I couldn't get an early test, so had to take mid morning unfortunately.

Should my FT4 ideally be higher through the range?

I'm trying to get all historical blood results, to see what my levels looked like when I felt well, but I was taking 100mcg T4 & 50mcg/ 60 mcg T3. No one got upset with me until the cost of T3 went up, which tells me that my levels were OK.

Not what you're looking for?
