How did you take this test?

Time of day?

When was last dose of levo & T3 before the test?

Free T4 (fT4) 8.6 pmol/L (9 - 19) -4.0%

Free T3 (fT3) 5.7 pmol/L (2.4 - 6) 91.7%

Your results are very unbalanced. Is the idea that you're on combination therapy or topping up T3 monotherapy?

Have you now started supplementing B12 and with what?

Hi Jaydee

I had the test 7.30am.

Meds T4 was 24 hours before test and T3 about 20 hrs before test. I normally take T3 in 3 doses 20/20/5. I take B12 drops. I don’t feel myself but don’t know if I’m way out with the medication? Does it need tweaking? Thanks

If last T3 was 20hrs before test and it was only 5mcgs then you're taking too much T3.

The day before test delay last dose of T3 (roughly a third of dose) until 8-12hrs before blood draw so that results show stable blood levels.

FT4 is below range.

Over time you likely need more Levo and a fair bit less T3, but this needs to be done very slowly. I suspect you're currently over replaced.

Suggest dropping 5mcgs T3 for a month then another 5mcg T3, retest in 6-8 weeks.

I would agree

Suggest you drop 5mcg dose of T3 and add 12.5mcg Levo

After 4-6 weeks retest correctly

Test 9am latest

Last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

Day before test split T3 as 20mcg waking, 10mcg mid afternoon and 10mcg at 9pm

Likely to need to reduce T3 further and increase Levo but it must be done VERY VERY SLOWLY

Essential to retest vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
