Just had an appointment with my GP and after lots of persuasion and me quoting NICE guidelines at him, he's agreed to reinstate my previous daily 100mcg Levo. π₯³This does come with the condition of reassessing in 6-8 weeks after bloods done. (I'll cross that bridge when I get there)
I got the usual spiel about having a below range TSH can cause heart problems but I countered this by saying I've already been having weird heart skips and thumps since my Levo was lowered and had nothing whatsoever for years on 100mcg per day.
I've also managed to blag loads of other blood tests including vitamin b12, vitamin D, folate, iron panel, calcium, ferritin and a few other bits.
On a side note - I happened to notice that there was a sign up in the waiting room saying that GP's would only discuss one condition during an appointment. Total madness. I managed to shoehorn 3 different things in as I'm not going to wait another 6 weeks to discuss something that's bothering me when there's a doctor sat there in front of me!

It's all down to the support and info gained from all the lovely contributors to this forum. I used to be the 'perfect' patient in that I always believed that GP's knew exactly what they were doing and saying and I would never have said anything contradictory to them in the past.
And once the 6 -8 weeks is up and they want to repeat bloods just postpone it as long as possible. I was supposed to have mine retested in February after a dose increase, but due to them sending a reminder and not pursuing it and me being unaccountably unavailable, they haven't cottoned on.
You can always use work commitments, a long lost relative suddenly died, catching covid, a very long holiday or you've emigrated π. I found opting out of text messages from the surgery and asking for them to contact me by letter has worked wonders.
They clearly can't be arsed and they dont bother me with stupid things like asking me to rate the surgery. Win win.
As you will need an early appt for yr bloods, I doubt there'll be one available for at least a month or so - that's what it's like at my surgery!! Another month's levo on the cards and a little stash growing!!
