GP appointment postponed

My GP appointment has been postponed until 18th July, I wasn't offered an appointment with another doctor. This means I have to postpone the private endo appointment too as it required me to get a referral from my GP.

I will do a full thyroid blood tests when I've been on my meds fior 6 weeks. Is there anything I can do to help myself while waiting? My family has been through he'll in the last 6 months, 4 deaths, both one parent had MAJOR heart surgery, one a disillusioned break.

On 75mcg because 75/100mcg on alternate days resulted in TSH too low gor GPs comfort despite being symptomatic. I weigh 83kg or more. I don't want to get on scales any more as I cannot control my weight.

I want something to help through supporting my family through the upcoming funeral and operations.

I use B12 and D &K sprays, Thorn B and magnesium. I am strickly GF.

Any suggestions appreciated with thanks.

Email in requesting GP write letter of referral to your new endocrinologist

GP should send letter to you for you to email on to endocrinologist

well any other GP at the surgery should also be capable of writing a letter of referral….a letter of referral for private consultation is merely a formality

Just a letter to confirm you are who you say you are, that you’re diagnosed as having xxxx and currently prescribed xxxx

Thanks. I'll give it a go. My surgery is usually unhelpful as I changed GPs to get away from one that was really poor.

Why don’t you call the private endo’s secretary and explain your problem?

A friend recently had her cataracts done privately and at her first appointment her consultant asked her how she got to him (my husband retired optometrist recommended him) but it wasn’t a problem, I think he was just curious.

I know it sounds cynical but where money is involved I’m sure there must be some way of getting to see your endo.

Endo has stipulated that referral letter is needed. So will see if any other gp at my surgery will wrote one. Thanks

My heart goes out to you. Yes ask for another GP to write referral letter. Most GPs are pleased to refer as it absolves them of their medical care for that condition. They can blamed to consultant!! 😂Good luck.
