Please enlighten me!!!

I have not had labs since 2023 and needed new RX. The following are results from 4/11 at which time I had not taken any thyroid meds for one week. I had really been concerned about the possibility of heart issues due to over 6 months of extreme fatigue, inability to do even light excercise, shortness of breath, roaring in my ears, irritability and intermittent upper left chest pain, forgetting words, etc.

I blamed a diagnosed stomach ulcer and gastritis.

I only have a half of thyroid and have had full hysterectomy

4/11 results

Thyroid T4 3.9 UG/dl

Free T3. 103.pg,no

Thyroid per oxidase. 29.6 iu/no

Ferritin 2.9 ng/no

B 12 867 pg/ml (had drank a monster that am)

Long story short, went to a Nurse practioner after my Dr didn't address the non existant Ferritin levels after 2 weeks .

These are labs drawn 4/24 that were abnormal

Chloride 108 98-107

BUN 25. 7-17

BUN/creatine 27. 5-20

RBC. 4.2. 4.6-6.2

HGB 11.1. 13.0- 18.0

HCT 37.4. 40.0-54.9

MCHC 29.7. 32.0-36

RDW-SD. 48.1. 29.0-46.0

RDW. 15.0. 11.5-14.5

Absolute Eosinophil count 0.4. 0.0-0.2

Ferritin 5. 11-264

Iron. 40. 37.0-170

Direct TIBC. 373. 261-462

Regular thyroid Dr raised generic cytomel to 10 mg at noon (I have a nice little bout of energy for about 3 hours!!) 5 mg at 5 pm

She had prescribed Synthroid 175 daily, but I had adjusted it to 1 one day and 1/2 the next due to not feeling well and palpitations about 6 months ago I was only taking 5 mg twice a day of cytomel then.

Thank you for any input!!! Raising two grandchildren and I need my energy and no irritation from within!!!

You have quite a complicated history and no blood results will be accurate unless you stay on a steady dose for 6-8 weeks.

Highly likely that the low ferritin is giving you many issues including palps and extreme fatigue, inability to do even light excercise, shortness of breath, roaring in my ears, irritability and intermittent upper left chest pain, forgetting words, etc.

When you have blood results from being on a steady dose for 6-8 weeks make a new post for members comments.

Have you had folate and D3 tested? B12 should also be retested with no monster drinks before it.

Iron supplements are available over the counter. Many members have done well with this product. Take 4 hours away from your Levo and with vit C or orange juice to help it absorb better.

Thank you so much! Dr ordered an iron infusion for next week and will retest thyroid levels and iron panels as well. I will request tests for folate, B-12 and D3 as well! I appreciate your response!

I was going to say that an iron infusion might be appropriate. That should help you a lot.

Only retest after 6-8 weeks on the same dose.
