I'm so angry but not surprised. I didn't expect much tbh.
My daughters last Vitamin results from 2022 were B12 290, Ferritin 24, folate 9.2 & Vit D 39. She been on thyroxine since a teenager now in her 40's. TSH levels fluctuating all over the place for past 6 years.
Well the GP called today & refused to do T3 & T4 no surprise there. Has refused to recheck vitamins other than D but will do a FBC Calcium & diabetes & Coeliac test for some reason. Why??
I could spit feathers !!!!!
Guess it's private then What is wrong with these GP's.

Makes you want to say ‘because he can’ as in he can find a series of 3 unrelated tests to do , but not the two that would be most relevant! Mind you to be fair sometimes the Lab is the one to reject requests for full thyroid bloods…he has ticked the boxes for tests he will probably get done without lab interference…. some might be of use to rule out ‘stuff’ .
Thanks. Yes I did think that at least the dr was doing something & my daughter said she seemed nice. I'm expecting her Calcium to be low as she hates most calcium rich foods. Oh well maybe its a step in the right direction.
Can you tell me how old your daughter was when she started Levo and what the tests were that precipitated it?
I’m managing my 17 year old right now - ambiguous thyroid results that I’m keeping an eye on while improving her vitamins.
I feel like if I had to guess, she’ll be on Levo at some point, but could be confirmation bias since of course I’m in the midst of optimizing my own Hashis.
So always looking for other people experiences when starting treatment as a teenager.
Hi I'm really sorry but I cant answer your question as I can't remember. Unfortunately I have Temporal Lobe Epilepsy which has pretty much wiped my memory of events throughout her childhood. She did become chubby though especially her face & cheeks were swollen which was probably the first thing we really noticed. She would be about the same age as your daughter at that point. It had almost definitely been going on for a long time to get to that point. she is now a size 6/8 & petite. I do hope you get some answers soon & so sorry I can't help.
