New test results-can someone advise please.

I posted previous Medichecks Thyroid tests and have just had the results of the one I did on Monday morning!

9 am, fasting. No thyroxine for 26 hours. Usually take 112.5 mcg, thyroxine and 5 mcg T3 at around 6 am.

Inflammation

(I have an upset tum at the moment after a course antibiotics for a chest infection!)

CRP HS 3.290mg/L range less than 3

Iron Status

Ferritin 111 ug/L. 30-650

Vitamins

Folate -45.4 nmol/l range more than 7

Serum Vitamin B12 - Active 150 pmol/L 37.5-188.

Vitamin D 220 nmol/L 50-250

Thyroid Hormones

TSH 0.107 mlU/L. 0.27-4.2

Free T3 4.7 pmo/L 3.1-6.8

Free Thyroxine 21.2 pmo/L 12-22

Autoimmunity

Thyroglobulin Antibodies 31.4kIU/L 0-115

Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies 44 klU/L 0-34

Am I over or under medicated on those results please? I am on a trial of T3 5 mcg, and have been taking it for 21/2 months, I reduced the thyroxine from 125mcg to 112.5mcg when I started taking the T3. I am speaking to my GP in a week or so's time. Thank you in advance!😊

You are under-medicated on T3. Your FT3 is still very low - far too low for good health. And increase to 10 mcg would be a good idea. :)

If these results are 24 hours after T3 (8-12 is recommended due to short half life) then I'd suggest adding another 2.5mcg T3 as an afternoon dose maybe 2pm for an 8 hour gap and see how you feel

Thank you GreyGoose and TiggerMe. I hadn't realised T3 had a such short half-life-this result shows that I do need it, so when I speak to my GP, I have confirmation that it should be added to my RX for Thyroxine too.

So, should I stay with the 112.5 levothyroxine, and add 5mcg T3 and a further 2.5mcg 8 hours later,

or

revert to the 125mcg Levo I used to take when only on Levothyroxine, and add the 5 mcg in the afternoon?

Much appreciated!

I'd hold steady with the 112.5 T4 as you are top of the range there and perhaps dropping the odd 12.5 once or twice a week might be the way but lets just do one change at a time..... so I'd suggest adding 2.5 T3 in the afternoon and see how you feel after a couple of weeks, if you think you need to put that up to 5 then small rises are a more gentle introduction and some people find 3 doses works better so you could add the extra 2.5 before bed.... timing is a personal thing that needs a little experimenting with, you may equally find that one dose of everything in the morning is the best for you 🤗

T3 is powerful stuff so small changes and time to adjust is key
