hi everyone

Please could I have some advice on my latest results? I had some from the GP which prompted me to get full panels done privately, which are as follows:

FT3 5.8 - 3.1 to 6.8

FT4 15.9 - 12 to 22

T4 114 - 59 to 154

TSH 2.88 - 0.27 to 4.2

TPO’s 131 - 0 to 34

I’m currently on 50mcg of levothyroxine

Vitamins -

Total iron binding capacity 64 - 45 to 81

Transferrin saturation 18.3% - 25 to 45

Ferritin 49 - 44 to 150

Iron 11.7 - 10 to 30

UIBC 52.3 - 13 to 56

Vitamin D 43.5 - 50 to 250

thank you so much in advance!

I would plush for a 25mcg Levo increase to get TSH closer to 1 and FT4 / FT3 higher in range if you have any adverse symptoms Smartypants1.

I like my vitamins as follows:

Vitamin D (100-150nmol/L)

Vitamin B12 (Total B12 at top of range or for Active B12 100 or above)

Folate (at least half way through range)

Ferritin (half way through range) Some point to 90-110ug as optimal.

I improved but D by using BetterYou D3/ K2 spray, folate and B12 by using Thorne Basic B and ferritin by following advice on daily iron.net

dailyiron.net/

I’m sure others will be along soon with links to other vitamin supplements.

Thanks Buddy. Any thoughts on the iron profile? Even though I’m in range, should I be taking a supplement to push it up a bit? I know you have to be careful with iron but I’m shattered!

I will let others more knowledgeable than I shed light on iron supplements. SlowDragon andhumanbean both give great advice on this.

Personally, I only took iron supplements for a short period and for long term benefit looked to up the iron content in my diet.

As vegetarian and Hashimoto’s you will always need to work hard at maintaining optimal B12 and iron/ferritin

Thanks Slowdragon. Last time you said not to supplement iron because I only had the ferritin result. Do you still think that now I have the other results?
