D3 could be higher though. Vitamin D should be around 100 - 150. Buy one that includes vit K2 to help it go to your bones. Some are available in oil or you can take it with an oily meal for better absorption. Many members like the βBetter Youβ range of mouth sprays that contain both bit D & K2. Use this calculator to work out how much to take to get your level to 100-150. wildatlantichealth.com/vita...
Ferritin could be a little bit higher. Ferritin should be around 90 - 100 for best use of thyroid hormone. Suggest increasing iron rich foods in diet and eating them often. Chicken livers, pate, red meat etc
Your FT3 is at 70% of its range and FT4 at 62% so you are converting well which makes life so much easier.
So just a few vitamin tweaks and you should be good. Enjoy!
Thank you! π I already take 5000iu of D daily. I have iron tablets, going to take Β½ tablet of 27mg tablets to increase (Ferrous biglycinate chelate). I already take k2 daily, and selenium. πππ
Thats quite a high dose of D3. Are you also taking vit K2 to help it go towards your bones?
Buying a supplement that contains oil or taking it with an oily meal can help it absorb better.
Its not recommended to supplement with iron unless you have done an iron panel and been found to need it. You certainly don;t need an iron supplement for the ferritin level that you currently have.
Having too much iron is not a good thing which is why that dietary measures are recommended.
What is the unit for vitamin D? I note you're in the USA so perhaps it's ng/ml. That would convert to 160 nmol/L. It's possible Jaydee had in mind nmol/L when she said a result of 100-150 is desirable.
Sorry, I should been more clear. I wasn't asking about your dose. I was asking about your test result. You said it was Vit D 64 ( 30-100). But is that nmol/L or ng/ml?
I'm so sorry, I missed the second half of your reply. If it's 64 ng/mL, that's 160 nmol/L. Why do you think your result isn't optimal? It's great you're taking vitamin K2.
I guess I assumed that my 64 needed to be over 100 due to previous response? I won't change my vitamin dosage until I get enough information here π.
Thank you π. I'm still tired during the day, but getting a cpap in the next week or two due to diagnosed OSA 2 weeks ago. Hopefully that'll get me to be able to drive more than 40 mins and stay awake πππ€£π΄π΄... but my skin is clearer, digestion is much better, and my hands and feet aren't as cold all the time like they were. I'm happy for any improvement! π I'm still cold overall, but it has improved. I figure time, and possible future levo increases if ever needed, will get me closer to the finish line. πππ Thanks again for all the help and advice this site provides. Can't find anything this good in the USA. πππ πππ
Any temporary wellness is such a welcome reprieve, and you never know in time some of your others symptoms may go too. I believe some people do manage just fine on lower doses.
Interesting you feel warmer. I'm borderline I think regarding thyroid suppressed. Low resting heart rate 44bpm, low body temperature 34-35c, but energy for me is good but I found massive improvement in that from increasing walking, and cardio which I suspect works by warming me up and raising my heart rate. I also was taking vit d 5000iu, but while it was in range for a year on it still at lower end, so in the last 6 months upt it to 10,000iu every day for 4 months, then every other day there on, and now my vit d is more but not in the middle yet.
Asking for my own understanding: G Gal has higher FT3 than FT4 and is on a lowish dose of Levo. Does this mean she is struggling to maintain FT3 and may need an increase at some point? I appreciate she feels well now, and is at an early stage of titration.
