I had a very stressful colonoscopy last Thursday. Stressful in itself but rendered more so by the Practice Nurse who fasttracked me, saying, ‘Good luck, I hope I’m wrong.’ I defy anyone to not think the worst after that!
Anyway, the scope was clear of cancer, or polyps but confirmed what I already knew from a previous scope seven years ago - I have diverticulosis, severe in parts. A diverticulitis flare up prompted this whole episode.
Since the scope and following the great relief of the diagnosis ( though not in itself a picnic!), I have been feeling back to square one with fatigue, dullness, sleep disordered, slightly jittery and brooding - I’d forgotten how dreadful all that felt pre-levothyroxine ( a mere 75mcgs). I supplément with D and K2, Magnesium and with zinc oral spray on its way today.
My question, do I ride this out and wait to stabilise or get retested? Could it also be because I’ve increased fibre as GI Cons advised?
Thank you.

How very indelicate of that nurse! At my recent thyroid ultrasound, after my thyroid was declared to be ‘boringly normal’ despite my protestations that since I’m symptomatic etc etc there’s definitely something going on, the Dr rather cheerfully shouted, “I hope it’s nothing sin-i-ster!” as I left the room.
These people. Is it gallows humour? I banged my head and had to go to a /e. After the usual waits, checks etc incl skull X-ray, doc cheerfully announced, ‘Well, the brain tumour’s no worse!’ I admit I had to laugh.
