Another user of this site suggested I have blood tests and post here for advice. I've been trying to loose weight forever but nothing works. Can anyone point me in right direction please?
Thankyou. Tests taken 9.15am. Not on any medication. No conditions diagnosed. Previously treated for microprolactinoma but no meds required for many years. Only take multivitamins and glucosamine. 57yrs old and not yet menopausal.
TSH tends to be highest in morning so you tested at good time. It’s also said eating can reduce it too. So for consistency we recommend fasting overnight.
Do any of your supplements contain biotin, this can interfere with testing process & needs to be left off 3 days before test.
Microprolactinoma - is this a pituitary related adenoma?
Issues with pituitary can cause secondary hypothyroidism, here the TSH does not respond to low levels as expected. Further monitoring to see if levels change.
