Hi

update on dd 17.

Thyroid results are better than they were last year, since she was able to go private and got dose upped from 100 to 125. Still really struggling with fatigue and nausea though, and will really struggle to go to college, as couldnt do full time school.

This week's results. Through range, Tsh 13%, fT4 71%, folate 40%, ferritin 17%.

Active B12 last year was 107%. Vit D is always around 90, no range given.

Past year has been thyroxine in morning, then a and b alternate evenings to maximise absorption:

a. 3 x iron bisglycinate with vit C

b. 2 x high strength b complex with methlyfolate, plus magnesium and zinc, and weekly high dose vit D.

I cannot get any more tablets into her, she is resistant already to taking this many!

Guess I should see if she will take iron every day for a while to take a break from the others?

Was test done early morning and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

What’s range on Ft4

She needs TSH, Ft4 and Ft3 tested together

cheapest option for just TSH, FT4 and FT3

£29 (via NHS private service ) and 10% off down to £26.10 if go on thyroid uk for code

Is ferritin improving?

Ferritin needs to be at least over 70

No, was done mid morning because she doesnt do anything whatsoever before that.

Maybe 14 h after last dose, she is trying out taking at night to see if it reduces nausea.

fT4 range 9.0-21.0.

Will not do a home test for T3, will not do fingerprick and will not let me do it. The NHS did T3 last year just after dose increase because tsh went slightly below range. We did private phlebotomist and home test during lockdown but set me back nearly £500. Plus for monitor my health I would have to lie about her age.

Ferritin is improving, gone from 15 to 27 to 34 to 47 over last 2 years since I read up about it.

So working within a lot of limitations. Will keep going with iron and folate.

thank you
