Update on bloods - retested

Hi all

I had my bloods done again through Medichecks as the GP refused to re-test. Endo agreed that the GP's FT4 result was utter rubbish.

Results as follows:

CRP <0.3 (range 0 - 5)

Ferritin 112.0ug/L (range 13 - 150)

Folate Serum 18.74ug/L (range 13 - 150)

Vit B12 - Active >150 (range 37.5 - 188)

Vit D 134.00nmol/L (range 50 - 200)

TSH 4.64mU/L (range 0.27 - 4.2)

Free T3. 3.92pmol/L (range 3.1 - 6.8)

Free T4 15.000pmol/L (range 12 - 22)

TgA 11.400IU/ml (range <115)

TPA 13.00 IU/ml (range <34)

I had not taken iron or B Complex for a week before taking this test. There was an 11hour gap from my dose of T3. I currently dose Levo 100/100/75/75/100/75/75 repeat. I also take 2.5 mcg of T3 alongside the Levo at 6am, a further 2.5mcg T3 at 2pm. I have been on this dose now for 7 weeks. Last week I started to feel a bit nervous/jittery as though my body couldn't keep up with the pace. Pulse was getting too high at 82 on a morning, body temp not really changing much at 36.2. I spoke to my endocrinologist on Wednesday, he said to leave until I get bloods done. I have sent these across to him tonight. In the meantime, my right adrenal has flared up, and I have tenderness around my throat. I have also been off B12 for 3 months. I take B complex 4 times per week. Looking at these results I only need to take 1 to 2 per week. Also Vitamin D is high enough, should I reduce this also (2000 per day for 3 years). My question is, should I hold with the thyroid hormones or increase. Sorry for the long post. X

Ft4 is low

TSH high

Suggest you increase levothyroxine dose to 100mcg daily

Retest in 6-8 weeks

Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription

Perhaps reduce vitamin D dose a little…

Yes, the brand of Levothyroxine is the same. How much should I reduce Vitamin D by? I have been taking 2000iu per day for over 2 years. Could I get away with 2000iu 3 x per week or maybe just 1 x per week?

Perhaps reduce vitamin D to 1000iu daily or 1000iu and 2000iu on alternate days

Trial and error what suits each person

Thanks again for your advice, I'll reduce to 1000iu (chop the tablet in half). Will see from the next set of bloods in 6/8 weeks time. X

I would want an increase in Levo and lio. Admins on here say do one at a time but I often do both (say 12.5 Levo or 5 lio) as Levo takes a long time to get up to level.
