My check list

Hello everyone

As I’ve stated before I have underactive thyroid, which took me several years to get treated as my blood tests were in range. My mother and aunt have the same.

I’m sure my daughter has the same. She has had ME for 8 years. She’ll soon be 23. She’s had large weight gain and huge hair loss.

I just want to check with you guys the blood tests I need for her are:

TSH, FT4,FT3 plus TPO and TG thyroid antibodies.

Also vit D, folate, ferritin and B12.

Can we do a finger prick test with the company’s you recommend?

And they need to be done as early as possible in the morning with no meds.

I will also get all the same done for me as I can’t get my gp to test my bloods again. She thinks the results from 2019 are still good!

I also have massive hair loss.

My next step….contacting a private endocrinologist in Devon.

Thank you for letting me run it all past all you experts and for the advice and direction. I don’t know what we’d all do without it.

Thanks again x

Yes

Yes

Yes. Medichecks Advanced Thyroid Function test or Blue Horizon Thyroid Premium Gold test both cover all those tests and can be done by fingerprick.

And they need to be done as early as possible in the morning with no meds.

Yes. No later than 9am. Nothing to eat or drink except water before the test. No supplement containing Biotin (eg B Complex) for 3-7 days before the test.

Post results plus reference ranges on the forum for members to comment.

If taking any supplements that contain biotin stop these a week before ALL BLOOD TESTS as biotin can falsely affect test results

If testing iron/ferritin stop any iron supplements a week before testing.

Only do private test early Monday or Tuesday morning and then post back via tracked postal service
