He'd better start you on medication! You are severely hypothyroid with a TSH of 75!

You making me scared 😳 I'm thinking he will on the 3rd also having a MRI on my thyroid.

Who did the testing? Can you phone them up and say you need a prescription for Levothyroxine? Or see your GP?

If you feel okay at the moment then I don't think the problem is so urgent that you need to see anyone ASAP. But I think you should see someone about the result next week.

Assuming that you have been prescribed Levothyroxine, a dose of 100mcg is a good dose to start with for someone who no longer has a working thyroid. But you may well need an increase in a few weeks. Make an appointment to get tested in 5 - 6 weeks, and make an appointment to see the doctor managing your treatment a few days after that, when the results should be available. Make sure you get a copy of the results including reference ranges. Then post the results in a new post on here.

Good luck. :)

Picked them up he has me at 125 mg on empty stomach. So should I wait to take my other meds after?

Levo should be taken with plenty of water, 1 hour before or 2 hours after food and drink (water can be drunk at any time though).

Other meds and supplements should be taken at least 2 hours away from levo. The exceptions are : iron, vitamin D, oestrogen, calcium, magnesium which need to be taken at least 4 hours away from levo.

It doesn't really matter what time of day you take your levo, as long as you adhere to the above rules. Some people take it in the middle of the night when they get up to go for a pee. Some take it first thing in the morning, some take it just before bed. The choice is yours, depending on when you can fit it in.

Thanks. Yes I'll post after my appointment.

Hi everyone I missed my appointment so it's in December he did start me on 125 mg of Levo still having hair coming out and still can't swollow my pills even before I had issues with my thyroid it just stays in my throat. Small ones I think they go down but my Norcos that one I know it stuck I asked my pain doctor if I can cut in half he said no. So I don't know what to do. Maybe he will give me a liquid med for pain I tried putting it in a small piece of bread and almost was choking from it I didn't do that again.
