New blood results in and I would appreciate some insight.

I have been supplementing iron, folate and Vit D following advice from this group.

DHEA 3.08 umol/L (1.65-915)

CRP HS 5.2 mg/L (0-5) 2.6 in June 21

Iron 24.72 umol/L (5.8-34.5)

TIBC 59.82 umol/L (45-81)

UIBC 35.1 umol/L (24.2-70.1)

Transferritin sat 41.32% (20-50)

Ferritin 45.4 ug/L (13-150) up from 35 in June 21

Folate >19.8 ug/L (>3.89)

B12 90.3 pmol/L (37.5-188) 108 in June

Vit D 102 nmol/L (50-200) 85 in June

TSH 2.11 mU/L (0.27-42) 0.29 in June

Free T3 4.3 pmol/L (3.1-6.8) 5.5 in June

Free thyroxine 17.5 pmol/L (12-22) 21.5 in June

Thyroglobulin antibodies 159 IU/mL (<115) 164 in June

Thyroid peroxidase antibodies 122 IU/mL (<34) 118 in June

125mg of Levo every night before bed.

I am still waiting for a full female hormone panel and results of my DIO2 gene test.

For the first time in 8 years I tested bloods with a 24 hr break from Levo, water only, morning blood sample. Taken at 930am (should have been 845 but couldn’t find a suitable vein).

I have a way to go still with the iron to reach optimal level but it’s heading in the right direction.

Any advice would be appreciated. Appointment booked with a private Endo next week.

Many thanks

If you normally take levothyroxine at bedtime/in night ...adjust timings as follows prior to blood test

If testing Monday morning, delay Saturday evening dose levothyroxine until Sunday morning.

Delay Sunday evening dose levothyroxine until after blood test on Monday morning.

Take Monday evening dose levothyroxine as per normal

Is this how you did your test?

Results show you have room for dose increase

Perhaps 125mcg and 150mcg alternate days

Are you on absolutely strictly gluten free diet

Hi SlowDragon ,

I’m sorry I wasn’t clear, I took my usual dose of Levo on Monday night, missed Tuesday night, dosed Wednesday 845am and then had blood drawn at 930am Thursday and dosed immediately afterwards. That’s what I understand from your previous instructions on a reply to me.

I have been 99% GF. Really struggling as family unsupportive.

I was hoping to try T3 and or NDT. Still so many hypo symptoms and struggling with daily living.

So you did test correctly

Likely to need further small increase in levothyroxine BEFORE considering adding T3

Obviously continue working on improving low ferritin

Well done on gluten free diet

Thank you for you input. The 99% GF should read 90%. Fat fingers 🤦‍♀️

It does need to be absolutely strictly gluten free to be effective

It gets easier as you get use to it

If you don’t feel well still you’ve plenty of room for a dose increase and that should help.
