Ferritin 34.1 (22-322)

Iron 23.5 (14-31.3)

Transferrin 3.07 (2.15-3.65)

B12 510 (211-911)

Folate 4.6 (2-20)

D3 95nmol/l

TSH 5.65 (0.35-5.5)

T4 10.2 (10.5-21)

Dr refused T3 test so when we repeat the above in a couple of months, we’ll do a private T3

To put these results into some context, he had Covid badly over Christmas and is only just starting to feel normal, so many of his nutrients will have been spent fighting the illness and therefore affected his thyroid hormones too, but as we know, having one’s nutrients at optimum levels will support (and in many cases) normalize thyroid hormones but what’s concerning is, our diet is really very good AND he’s been supplementing with

Iron

Folate

B12

D3

Vit C

D3 with K2

Magnesium

B complex

All the above he’s been taking for 3 months now (and our diet is excellent) so I’m surprised and disappointed to see these results, especially as he’s so sceptical about taking them. You wouldn’t believe the powers of persuasion I’ve had to use to get him taking them!

Should we just be patient and re-test in say, three months and take it from there?

The brand of supplements we take in most cases is metabolics. My levels are all now good so the brand works. What’s going wrong for him?

I should also add that about 2-3 years ago I urged him to get thyroid tests which came back abnormal but when repeated six weeks later they were all reasonable again. Coincidentally, he took the tests just after a bout of flu and our GP put the poor results and then normal results down to having been ill with it. All quite plausible and possible ...
