Mwaite1985Test results from a few months ago are not relevant now. You need to get new tests done for us to be able to make suggestions.
When having thyroid tests we always advise:
* Test no later than 9am, this gives the highest possible TSH which is needed when looking for an increase in dose or to avoid a reduction.
* Nothing to eat or drink other than water before the test, this is because eating can lower TSH and coffee, and other caffeine containing drinks, can affect TSH.
* Last dose of Levo should be 24 hours before the test, this is because taking Levo before the test gives a false high result, leaving longer gives a false low result.
What doses of those vitamins are you taking and what are your current levels?
Is there a particular reason you're taking Vit A?
As you're taking B12, are you also taking a B Complex to balance all the B vitamins?
If you don't behave current results for vitamins it would be a good idea to do a full thyroid/vitamin test panel with Blue Horizon or Medichecks
"As above, here are my results from a few months back."
So is it a few months or 6 weeks?
This test I’ve had done is the best on the market through Genova.
It's a blood test, the same as all the other labs, just different reference ranges, doesn't make it the best on the market.
Did you do the test as we advise, as I've listed above?
All medications I’ve referred we advised by my local health shop.
Health shops can't advise on medication, they're not medically trained, presumably you mean supplements?
Vit A is fat soluble, any excess gets stored and can lead to toxicity, we have to be careful with Vit A. Excess Vit D also gets stored as that is also fat soluble, which is why it's essential to test to establish if we need to supplement and at what dose.
When taking Vit D we also need Vit K2-mk7. Taking D3 aids absorption of calcium from food and Vit K2-mk7 directs the calcium to bones and teeth where it is needed and away from arteries and soft tissue where it can be deposited and cause problems such as calcification of arteries, kidney stones, etc. Did the health shop advise you about that?
When taking B12 we also need a B Complex.
Is your Levo prescribed? If so does your GP know you take T3?
What were your results before you started taking T3?
Do you know that you have Hashimoto's, as shown by your raised Thyroid Peroxidase antibodies?
You mean you have been on 50mcg (2 x 25mcg) T3 for 6 months before this test?
Which brand of levothyroxine?
Are you taking your levothyroxine and T3 on empty stomach and then nothing apart from water for at least an hour after each dose
No vitamin supplements or other medications for at least 2 hours after each dose. No vitamin D or magnesium
supplements within 4 hours of levothyroxine or T3
(Time gap doesn’t apply to vitamin D mouth spray)
Suggest you increase levothyroxine by 25mcg and retest in 6-8 weeks
Plus add daily good quality vitamin B complex (but remember to stop taking vitamin B complex a week before ALL BLOOD TESTS as biotin can falsely affect test results
