Got all my results- what to do next??

I now have all my results back and not sure what to do next?

2003 I had graves and then took RAI. I’ve currently been on 125mg Levothyroxine per day.

I’m 42 and I feel awful, fatigue, weight gain, moods, lack of interest, brain fog... joints aches, neck pain- few to mention. I’m sick of feeling like this.

My GP and endo won’t help and thing my levels in thyroid are normal - but that doesn’t explain how I feel. Neither will give me T3. I now feel to self mediate along with the right supplements to boast my b12 and vit D.

TSH - 0.04 miu/L (0.35-4.78

T4 -19.4 pmol/ L ( 10.0 - 20.0

T3 - 5.3 pmol/L ( 3.5 - 6.5)

Vitamin D - 60nmol/L ( 75.0-200)

B12 - 241 ngl ( 200-900)

Ferritin 91 ugl (15.0- 250)

Folate 13.5 ugl ( 2.0-17.0)

Any advice I would be grateful for my next steps!

Thank you

You may need to reduce levothyroxine dose slightly and add T3 alongside

But first you need to get vitamin D and B vitamins optimal

Email Dionne at Thyroid UK for list of recommend thyroid specialist endocrinologists who will prescribe T3

mailto:tukadmin@thyroiduk.org

Vitamin D

GP will often only prescribe to bring levels to 50nmol.

Some areas will prescribe to bring levels to 75nmol

leedsformulary.nhs.uk/docs/...

GP should advise on self supplementing if over 50nmol, but under 75nmol (but they rarely do)

mm.wirral.nhs.uk/document_u...

NHS Guidelines on dose vitamin D required

ouh.nhs.uk/osteoporosis/use...

But improving to around 80nmol or 100nmol by self supplementing may be better

Once you Improve level, very likely you will need on going maintenance dose to keep it there.

Test twice yearly via vitamindtest.org.uk

Vitamin D mouth spray by Better You is very effective as it avoids poor gut function. There’s a version made that also contains vitamin K2 Mk7
