Hi, I posted earlier asking how long it takes for Levothyroxine to start working. I'm still feeling rubbish and taking the kids to Florida in a few weeks so really hoping that start to feel better soon! I've taken a look at last FBC and wondered if maybe have some vitamin deficiency too?
Ferritin 184 (13 - 150)
Folate 16.72 (3.10 - 18.3)
Vitamin B12 489 (180 - 2000)
MCV 99 (80 - 100)
MCH 32.8 (27 - 32)
Haemoglobin 148 (120 - 150)
Haematocrit 0.445 (0.37 - 0.47)
Platelets 189 (150 - 400)
Albumin 55 (35-50)
I'm awaiting other results for thyroid antibodies, FSH & LH, prolactin, Vitamin D and repeated iron studies.

I am a clinical laboratory scientist and your lab results look good. I am assuming you are female, and if so, your blood counts are amazing. Zero anemia. Your b12/folate/ferritin look very good.
But are laboratory blood tests reliable? Are the values correct? What about magnesium
the blood levels measure only what is in the blood the other 99% is in the muscles and tissues. For example the heart needs 20 times the amount that is in blood. There is
a whole body test recently developed but who knows when it will be available in the UK.
Just looked at your earlier post re thyroid results. It takes each new dose 6 weeks to get fully into your system and then we are usually retested and if still low given another 25 mcg and the whole process repeated until we are in the correct dose for us. So it can take some time but you should start to feel a little better astime goes on. Sadly we can't really speed it up as we could get in a terrible mess and have to start again. We start low to get our bodies used to it as it's a powerful drug and our body needs the low dose to get used to it. The other issue is that the medication has fillersadded to it to bulk it up and also the keep it stable. Each thyroid medication has a few of them so they are not all the same combination but sometimes you may be taking one that isn't suited to you so some have to swap brands until they find one that suits. The directive then is ifcthat happens once you find one you are happy with to ask your doctor to name it on the prescription so you get that one ever time.
As you have been only taking the medication for a short time you may not be ready for more bloods before you go. But at least you should have made some improvement.
