Hi

Just got these results back from Blue Horizon. I am absolutely shattered all the time and keep wanting to fall asleep during the day. I just don't feel right at all. I can't tell whether I am coughing and sneezing because of pollen or a virus. Very tender to touch around the ribs, shoulders, back, which hurts for ages after being touched. Have been diagnosed with dry eyes which I know can happen with hashimotos but am wondering if something else is going on. I am taking methylfolate every other day, stopped the iron, just had B12 injection, and am on 2 grains of nature-throid a day and bisoporol . I am concerned that the hs-CRP is high and am thinking that maybe a trip to gp should be made....Any thoughts anyone?

Did you get vitamin D tested?

FT4 looks low. Have you considered adding some Levothyroxine

Hi. I can't add thyroxine. Last time I tried it sent me to A & E with my heart stuck at 220 bpm! Too scared to try that again.

Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

If/when also on T3, or NDT make sure to take last dose 8-12 hours prior to test

Is this how you do your tests?

Yes. 7am, fasting, and more than 12 hours after previous dose.

It should ideally be 12 hours maximum before blood test

I always take my ndt first thing when I get up and then the second dose around 1pm. If I take it later in the day it affects my sleep. I have done this ever since starting ndt. All of my blood tests would have been taken under the same conditions. What difference does it make to the results? Would this mean that I could be slightly over dosing?

in reply toCatlover3

I also have never been able to work out when I was supposed to take or leave off my NDT either. I am having a blood test next Monday and still don't know. Like you take 1.5 grains at 6am and another one at 2pm. Last time I have a test I had another half at 8pm and that was wrong too. I cannot see the logic in any of it, sorry. If I could help I would.
